The continent had not been at peace for long before another piece of news drew the attention of every major faction across the land. The Yao Clan's alchemist competition, held once every few years, was about to begin!
The winners of the Pill Tower's alchemist competition in the past could not truly be considered the continent's number one alchemist. But if one emerged victorious in the Yao Clan, then that title would undoubtedly be deserved in both name and reality!
The Yao Clan was located in the Divine Farmer Mountain Range at the southernmost edge of the Central Plains. In a sense, that region had already left the boundaries of the Central Plains, making it rather remote.
Yet, as the saying went, a mountain need not be high if immortals dwelled upon it. The same applied to this mountain range. Though the Divine Farmer Mountain Range was a savage land where venomous insects ran rampant and rare ferocious beasts of all kinds constantly emerged, the Yao Clan's presence still made this region exceptionally lively. Moreover, the mountain range produced all manner of rare medicinal materials. Many alchemists traveled thousands of miles to seek ingredients for pill refinement, so the Divine Farmer Mountain Range was immensely popular.
The Medicine Canon was one of the Yao Clan's most important events. Its date was not entirely fixed and could change according to various circumstances. Apart from members of the Yao Clan itself, some grandmaster alchemists who had once possessed, or currently possessed, great fame and exceptional alchemical skill in the Central Plains could also receive invitations. However, such invitees were generally few in number. After all, alchemists worthy of catching the Yao Clan's eye were as rare as phoenix feathers and qilin horns on the continent.
