Somewhere on the Northwestern Continent.

Space twisted slightly as Xie Tianxiao and Xiao Yi Xian stepped out of a spatial rift.

"What a remote, desolate place. How did you find it?"

The two stood high in the sky, and what entered Xie Tianxiao's eyes was a vast, bleak expanse of land.

Not a blade of grass grew nearby. The area was utterly barren, with only a gigantic stone hall standing there like the descent of night, emanating a dense, sinister chill.

"By chance, I suppose. Back then, I hadn't successfully advanced to the Dou Zong realm yet. When Soul Hall discovered that I had the Woeful Poison Body, they wanted to threaten me into serving them. I refused, so they chased me all the way here."

Xiao Yi Xian spread her hands as she spoke.

"They hunted you down? With your strength, it probably wouldn't have required the Dou Zun of this Soul Branch Hall to act personally, but it still shouldn't have been easy for you to escape the Soul Envoys and Protectors."

Xie Tianxiao pondered briefly, then frowned and asked.

"Yes. I had only just entered this region. I was able to escape because of that old fellow Xie Bi Yan."

Xiao Yi Xian nodded, then changed the subject. Her beautiful eyes turned toward Xie Tianxiao as well.

"You used him?"

Seeing her expression, Xie Tianxiao understood that she must have done something.

Xiao Yi Xian had always been clever. With comparable strength, it would not have been easy to truly capture her.

"I merely went along with the situation. I could tell that Xie Bi Yan and one of Soul Hall's Protectors were at odds, and his grandson had improper intentions toward me. So, I took slight advantage of it and made them turn on each other."
