Medusa rules the Snake-People Clan and initially seeks the Green Lotus Core Flame to force her true form, the Purple Nether Flame Serpent, into an evolution capable of breaking her Dou Huang bottleneck. Her goal is not personal power alone: she intends to strengthen the clan, lead her people out of the Tagor Great Desert, and secure them a better homeland. 48 59 60

She first encounters Xie Tianxiao after tracing the Heavenly Flame's aura to a magma cavern. Mistaking him for an intruder, she attacks immediately, only for his protective aura to repel her sword and injure her. Xie overwhelms her, exposes her evolution plan, and coerces her into accepting his aid by threatening the Snake-People Clan. 47 48 49

Medusa accepts the dangerous Heavenly Flame ritual despite its high chance of death. Her body burns away and is reborn as the rare Seven-Colored Heaven-Swallowing Python, allowing her to enter the Dou Zong realm. The evolution also gives her human legs in place of her former snake tail. 60 61
