Background / History

The Heavenly Emperor lived in Heavenly Emperor City during the Nine Heavens Continent's ancient era, when the Demon, Ghost, Immortal, Devil, and Human races each possessed Great Emperor-level powers. He led the Human Race's rise and became its faith, while Heavenly Emperor City served as the continent's center. 532 541

He created the Human Race cultivation system, establishing the path from the Body Refining Realm through the Great Emperor realm. Other races used broadly similar systems under different names. 532

When he attained the Dao, the Dragon Emperor was the strongest known enemy and stood at the Heavenly Venerable realm. The Heavenly Emperor therefore chose “Heavenly Venerable” as his aspiration, ultimately surpassing the Dragon Emperor despite having cultivated for less time. 915 919

He was the first Human Race cultivator to take a disciple, meaning no prior Human Race custom existed requiring a master to give gifts when accepting one. The Heavenly Emperor is playful and sharp-tongued with Xiao Yun. He initially teases his prospective disciple for demanding a customary gift, then laughs at Xiao Yun's embarrassment before granting him the final Heavenly Emperor Scripture. 610
