Background / History

Ning Rongrong is Ning Fengzhi's only daughter and grows up within the wealthy, influential Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. As a child, she is lavishly dressed and openly indulged by her father; when Ning Fengzhi gives Zhang Fei a Gold Soul Coin card during their first meeting, she pouts until she receives one as well. 16

When Xue Qinghe visits the sect with Zhang Fei, Ning Fengzhi assigns Rongrong to show him around. Rather than simply touring the grounds, she leads him to the disciples' training field and deliberately creates the appearance of intimacy with him, provoking the jealousy of her admirers and setting up Zhao Qiang's challenge. 16 17

Appearance

Ning Rongrong is a pretty girl around Zhang Fei's age, with a doll-like face and bright, watery eyes. She is consistently presented in ornate, expensive clothing befitting the Sect Master's daughter. 16 17

Personality

Rongrong is spoiled, jealous, and used to receiving attention. She objects when her father praises and rewards Zhang Fei before giving her anything, but quickly becomes satisfied once she receives the same kind of Gold Soul Coin card. 16

She is clever, mischievous, and easily bored. At the training ground, she uses her closeness with Zhang Fei to stir up Zhao Qiang and the other disciples, treating the resulting conflict as entertainment. 17 After observing Zhang Fei's strength, however, she begins privately viewing him as a rival. 18

Her teasing remains persistent in later encounters: she calls Zhang Fei “Little Feifei,” repeatedly tries to pull him away from the imperial banquet, and continues inviting him to visit the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect despite his wariness. 23 26

Rongrong first meets Zhang Fei when he accompanies Xue Qinghe to her father's sect. After receiving her own Gold Soul Coin card, she is tasked with guiding Zhang Fei around the sect. 16

Training-Ground Prank and Zhao Qiang's Duel

She clings to Zhang Fei's arm in front of the sect disciples to provoke them, then falsely suggests that he wants to judge their abilities. Her scheme successfully prompts Zhao Qiang to challenge him. 17 Watching Zhang Fei defeat the higher-level Zhao Qiang, Rongrong begins to treat him as someone worth competing against. 18 19

Imperial Palace Banquet

At the imperial banquet, Rongrong becomes bored by the adults' conversation and pesters Zhang Fei to accompany her into the gardens. 23 She is present when Zhang Fei clashes with Xue Beng and later enjoys Xue Beng's humiliation after the prince is forced to apologize. 24 26

Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan Challenge

Rongrong accompanies Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo Chen Xin to the Heaven Dou Great Spirit Arena to watch Zhang Fei's arranged battle against Yu Tianheng. 31
