As Wang Yan reached the end, he turned the page over and glanced at the final note. He paused slightly, then looked in Tang Wulin's direction. "Since our class has gained another student, Xie Mu will serve as the first group's substitute and rotate in whenever a regular member is unable to compete for any reason."
He folded the paper and looked back at the whole class. "Then the first group has only one goal: the championship. Can you do it?"
Tang Wulin straightened slightly in his window-side seat and raised his chin toward Wang Yan. His tone was calm but resolute. "No problem."
Wang Yan nodded, then lowered his head to glance at the small writing along the edge of the paper again. As if recalling something unpleasant, he set the paper on the podium and rubbed his brow.
"Oh, right, there's one more matter. Xie Mu's position as a substitute requires formal registration documents under academy rules. I'm not very familiar with this process. Tang Wulin, could you relay it to the school for me? The Academic Affairs Office's procedures are far too cumbersome."
Tang Wulin nodded casually. "Sure. I'll go notify Yan Shaozhe later."
Wang Yan let out a relieved breath, folded the paper into his briefcase, then tapped the desk to silence the murmurs below. "For the next two days, members of each group should work on coordinating with one another. The class placement examination will officially begin after two days of practice."
The moment he finished speaking, subdued cheers erupted throughout the classroom.
Some students had already pushed their chairs back, turned around, and begun gesturing animatedly with their teammates in the seats behind them. Others pulled out paper and pens from their desks to sketch crude little portraits of their classmates.
Several girls in
