The enemies they faced now were no longer Degraded Ones. The blasphemous appearance of the Enchanted Warriors drew unanimous revulsion from the Imperium forces. Lorgar's hand trembled as he tried to say something, but the Enchanted Warriors had already completely lost their sanity. They were nothing more than bloodthirsty puppets beneath Tzeentch's demonic grasp.
They roared, and the stench lingered through the mountains. The surfaces of many peaks cracked apart, lava flowing like the mountains' blood and forming the shapes of daemonic runes. The mountains changed in appearance, rubble stretching its angular bodies like living creatures and casting dangerous gazes at the Imperium forces in the distance.
Many devout believers felt unwell the moment they looked upon the blasphemous aura shrouding the mountains. Fortunately, they had all received the Life Vaccine before taking part in this battle, and no one suffered further discomfort from Chaos corruption.
"We need to tear out the altars inside, seize every anti-air battery, and turn this place into our forward outpost," Fulgrim said to Lorgar. Mortarion also joined their vox channel.
"Wait for us. Leave this inch-by-inch grinding battle to us!"
Leave it to you? The only things left in the areas attacked by the Death Guard would be equally deadly poison gas and radioactive wasteland!
Fulgrim dearly wanted to say that, but he knew he could not. There was no need to intensify the conflict between brothers, so Fulgrim chose different words.
"Those inside are former subordinates of Lorgar and me. We understand their tactics."
With that said, Mortarion could say nothing more. He merely gave a muted snort to express his displeasure.
Led by the Primarchs Fulgrim and Lorgar, the Emperor's Children and Word Bearers took the very front of the formation.
The complex terrain was also favorable for support from other forces.
