Only Sacrifice

Grant had seen too much death on the battlefield. He had thought his heart had gone numb, but watching the auxilia charge forward one after another made it tremble faintly, like plucked strings.

Damn it, are you mortals trying to die gloriously before me and meet The Emperor? I won't allow it!

He did not know where he found the strength, but Grant endured the pain and struggled to his feet. He had not collected enough batteries. Though the explosion had come from inside, it was obvious that supernatural beings like daemons could not be judged by common sense. Even with all its internal organs hollowed out, the giant creature could still move slowly.

"Aaargh!"

Grant charged toward the Nurgle daemon, casually yanking a sheet of iron from the wreckage. He leapt off a pile of corpses and landed directly on the Greater Daemon of Nurgle's chest.

"For Barbarus! For The Emperor!" Grant roared, driving the iron sheet viciously into the Nurgle daemon's chest. The battery explosion had scorched the flesh beneath its skin crisp, and the iron easily punched a massive hole into it.

The Nurgle daemon reached for Grant, trying to crush him in its hand. Seeing this, Grant ignored whatever dangers lay inside its body and dove straight in.

If I die, you're not getting out alive either!

With that thought in mind, Grant rampaged through the Nurgle daemon's body. It was pitch-black inside, and the conditions were atrocious. He attacked blindly, hacking whatever he could hit and tearing apart whatever he could rip loose!

The Nurgle daemon writhed in unbearable agony. Clutching its stomach, it staggered back again and again until it leaned against a small hill of wreckage.

Seeing this, the auxilia shouted, "Concentrate your fire! We can't let our brothers' sacrifice be in vain!"
