But that was only the optimistic scenario. When Tzeentch made plans, he would certainly put his own interests first. Saving the world was surely just something done along the way.
Whether everything was extinguished or all things became pieces on the board, neither outcome sounded good to Khayon... especially since Carlos had definitely concealed something. They were far too practiced at telling half-truths.
After analyzing it all, Khayon had little interest in the future of the Milky Way. He only worried about what suffering his sister would have to endure.
Carlos moved closer to Khayon and described how wonderful the world would be after Tzeentch's victory.
"Everyone will remember your name and sing your praises as a great martyr! All you need to do is sign with your soul."
"Heh heh..." Khayon sneered twice at Carlos's temptation. He had no interest whatsoever in such illusory glory. "You should leave while you can. If The Emperor discovers you, he'll burn you until not even ash remains."
Carlos was in no hurry. Everyone had a price. So long as the offer was right, anyone could be bought.
Though the concept of buying people over was closer to Slaanesh's nature, Tzeentch was far more skilled at it. Slaanesh bestowed blatant gifts upon the followers she favored, as simple and crude as shoving a huge chunk of fatty meat into the hands of someone starving to death. Tzeentch, on the other hand, made subtle changes that caused all things to revolve around his chosen one, granting them the distinctive air of one favored by destiny. It was less conspicuous, but the taste lingered far longer.
What, exactly, did Khayon long for?
His father? His brothers? His guardian spirit? His little Scourges servants? His dear sister?
Hehehehe... How greedy he truly was...
Carlos's eyes flickered.
