It had to be said that these well-equipped Skitarii placed astonishing pressure on the T'au.

A volley that made no attempt to evade did not suit the needs of the battlefield, yet these Skitarii could slaughter their way across it, blasting every resisting enemy into scraps.

"Commander, the first wave of assault troops has suffered devastating casualties. Do we need to launch the next wave?"

A battlefield communications officer asked for Shadowsun's opinion. His expression was far from pleasant; connected to the battlefield communications network, he had heard too many agonized screams.

Shadowsun's resolve and prestige stirred everyone's spirits. They pressed their lips together and had the fleet deploy even more troops.

Ship after ship of warriors, ship after ship of vehicles, descended onto the ground and threw themselves into the battlefield, where the roar of shells and bullets never ceased.

Yan Ou's squad members had already been replaced several times. They had fought the robed machines for a long time, and every encounter had left them with grievous losses.

By now, Yan Ou could not even be bothered to ask his soldiers' names. Only the living deserved to be remembered.

"What we need to do is break through from here. See the battlefield ahead?" Yan Ou guided the soldiers beneath the cover of darkness.
