Khorne departed, and the God-Emperor withdrew his power as well, returning to his throne and staring coldly at Oedmeir.

The sharp shift in attitude surprised Oedmeir somewhat. The one called the Emperor before her had changed faces twice already.

Lin Fan came over to explain, "It's fine. He's just a little schizophrenic. He himself bears you no ill will. He's like this with everyone now—cold as ice."

"All right." Oedmeir watched as Slaanesh wrapped Lin Fan in her arms and kissed him again, but said nothing.

The God-Emperor's power propelled them away. With a blur before their eyes, Lin Fan and Oedmeir returned to the office.

Lin Fan took the holy icon from around his neck and handed it to Oedmeir.

"What is this?"

"A holy relic that can protect you. Who knows what Tzeentch wants to use you for? It's always good to have an extra safeguard."

"To block interference from the Warp?"

"Yeah, it can do that."

"Then I don't need it." Oedmeir waved a hand, indicating that she had other means of protecting herself. "When we developed the Warp engine, we realized something was wrong with the Warp. Otherwise, we would never have waited until Gellar Fields had matured before fully equipping ourselves with Warp engines."

Oedmeir activated her personal Gellar Field, and a familiar bubble-like shield formed close against her body.

"This is at full power. Normally, I only run it at fifty-five percent efficiency. If you keep this thing at maximum output for too long, you can easily end up a living corpse."

With that, Oedmeir made a few more adjustments and lowered the efficiency of her personal Gellar Field.

"Holy shit... th-then can this thing be mass-produced? If the Imperium had something like this, so many troublesome things wouldn't happen." Lin Fan's eyes widened.
