Sokovia was a tiny Eastern European country in the Marvel Universe. A few months ago, it had just been bombed by the United States.
Later, it would become the site of the final battle between the Avengers and Ultron, and be completely destroyed. It also gave rise to the Sokovia Accords, the fuse that ignited internal conflict among the Avengers.
Sokovia, 2000.
Although several months had passed since the bombing,
Qin Yi's first impression as he stepped out of the spatial vortex was chaos. Violent armies were everywhere, fighting one another for resources and labor.
As far as the eye could see, the entire city was filled with collapsed buildings. Small groups of children rummaged through the ruins, searching for something.
When they saw Qin Yi, one of the children quickly ran toward a group of rebels. Before long, the rebels had surrounded him.
One of them pointed a gun at Qin Yi and babbled a whole bunch of nonsense.
Qin Yi frowned. Damn it, including his previous life, he had only learned two languages in total. He couldn't understand a word of this.
The gunman impatiently pointed at Qin Yi. Qin Yi waved a hand, casually erased their memories of the past few moments, and left.
After flying into the air, Qin Yi looked down at the ruined city beneath him and pondered.
At this point, Wanda had already awakened part of her Chaos Magic. As long as he found traces of magic, he should be able to find Wanda.
Closing his eyes, Qin Yi spread out his spiritual power. Before long, it covered the entirety of Sokovia.
A moment later, Qin Yi muttered in confusion.
Why are there two magical auras? Could there be another mage here besides Wanda? After hesitating for a while, Qin Yi decided to investigate the weaker magical aura first.
Then, accompanied by spatial ripples, Qin Yi appeared in a cellar beneath a pile of ruins.
Pietro had spent the entire morning gathering food from all over and placing it on a three-legged square table.
After pouring a bowl of water, he was about to wake his sister when Qin Yi's sudden appearance froze him in place.
"Clang..."
The bowl shattered across the floor.
The instant Pietro came to his senses, he stretched out his arms and used his frail body to shield his sister, who had been awakened by the noise.
The awakened Wanda hid behind Pietro and secretly peeked at Qin Yi.
For a moment, Qin Yi stood there in a daze.
The three of them stared at one another wide-eyed for a long while.
Pietro cautiously asked,
"Who are you...?"
After thinking for a long time, Qin Yi said,
"Uh... I'm... one of your kind."
Clearly, neither Pietro nor Wanda understood what he meant.
Qin Yi then waved his hand toward the shattered bowl on the ground. Under Pietro and Wanda's shocked gazes, the tiny fragments flew into Qin Yi's hand and slowly turned back into a whole bowl.
Qin Yi held the bowl up to them again and said,
"One of your kind."
Still not letting down his guard, Pietro asked,
"What do you want with us?"
Uh, how was he supposed to put this? He couldn't exactly say he was lusting after Wanda's body. Qin Yi unconsciously put a hand behind his head, thinking of how to answer.
Just as Qin Yi was wracking his brain, a crazed woman flew over from afar beyond the ruins.
"I found you, my little treasure."
The sudden voice gave everyone in the cellar a fright. Pietro quickly put a finger to his lips and looked at Qin Yi.
"Shh..."
"No need to hide, little treasure. I can see you."
Outside the ruins, the crazed woman waved a hand, and the rubble above the cellar was blown into the distance. The three were instantly exposed to her view.
Qin Yi curled his lip. Who the hell was this? Carrying Wanda and Pietro, he flew to the surface and sized up the crazed woman before him.
Her hair was disheveled, dark circles hung heavily under her eyes, and her bright gaze stared fixedly at Wanda behind Qin Yi.
"Hey, and who might you be?"
The crazed woman, whose fantasy had been interrupted by Qin Yi, flew straight up and looked down at the three of them.
"I am Agatha Harkness, the most noble of witches."
Pietro: "..."
Wanda: "..."
Qin Yi: "..."
So it was her. Qin Yi quickly recalled what he knew about her.
In the comics, Agatha Harkness was the Scarlet Witch's mentor and had once served as the Fantastic Four's nanny. In the cinematic universe, she was portrayed as a powerful and evil witch.
After his experience with mutants, Qin Yi was no longer sure whether this was truly the orthodox movie universe. Before figuring out her purpose, he would first see what she intended to do.
The crazed witch Agatha looked down at the three stunned people opposite her.
She could not help wondering, Weren't there supposed to be two of them? Who's this handsome kid in front? He flew up from the cellar just now. Could he be a witch too? He doesn't look very old, so he shouldn't be a match for me.
Thinking this, Agatha said forcefully,
"Boy, hand over the girl behind you, or else..."
Qin Yi gave her a disdainful glance.
"Or else what?"
"This day next year will be the anniversary of your death."
Looking at the witchcraft fluctuations in Agatha's hand, Qin Yi turned back to look at the trembling Pietro and Wanda hiding behind him.
Am I really in the Marvel Universe? That line is so cringeworthy I want to beat a certain guy named Cat Tiger to death. It feels like something out of one of those trashy historical idol dramas.
With a wave of his hand, two magical bubbles protected Pietro and Wanda, slowly lifting them to a position slightly above Agatha as Qin Yi looked down on the crazed witch.
"So you're from Kamar-Taj. Boy, don't force me to act..."
Before Agatha could finish, Qin Yi directly enclosed them all within the Mirror Dimension. In an instant, the terrifying energy around him formed a humanoid giant hundreds of meters tall, radiating seven-colored light as though a god had descended.
Standing in the giant's head, Qin Yi waved a hand. The seven-colored giant grabbed the dumbfounded Agatha in a single slap.
It slowly raised its hand and brought her before its eyes.
As the crazed witch Agatha watched the enormous head slowly approach, the indifferent gaze frightened her so badly that she rolled her eyes back and fainted.
That easily scared? Qin Yi pondered for a moment, the energy in his hand slowly altering Agatha's memories.
She should make a decent treasure hunter for him. After all, she had lived for so many years and should have plenty of connections.
After dismissing the giant form, Qin Yi casually tossed the memory-altered Agatha aside.
He walked over to the Pietro and Wanda siblings, who had yet to recover from their shock.
"Do you want to come with me?"
Pietro turned to look at the already destroyed cellar, jumped down, gathered the food from the table, and carried it on his back.
Holding his sister Wanda's hand, he walked over to Qin Yi and nodded.
"Where to?"
Qin Yi thought about it.
Howard Estate was definitely out; the new tower had not been built yet. Bucky, that metal-armed gay bastard, was definitely not an option either. Maybe he could take them to Kamar-Taj first. Old Yao probably wouldn't blame him, right?
Why do I suddenly feel like such a scumbag?
Still, he had sent Kamar-Taj so many magical prodigies. With Wanda and Jean Grey, the most terrifying forces in the Marvel Universe—Chaos Force, Phoenix Force, and Fairy Force—would all gather at Kamar-Taj.
Master Ancient One—no, Old Yao—should be very happy.
Qin Yi waved a hand, and a surge of energy enveloped the three of them. Amid spatial ripples, they were transported to Kamar-Taj, while the Mirror Dimension vanished as well.
Only the treasure hunter, Agatha Harkness, remained lying on the ground.
