"No. Absolutely not. Qin, do you know how much impact your actions will have?"
Phoenix stood off to the side, spacing out and trying not to look at her master and junior brother, who had started arguing the moment they met. She was already used to it. Instead, she curiously eyed the two skinny children following behind her junior brother.
Qin Yi looked helplessly at the Ancient One. After sighing, he turned to Jean Grey.
"Senior Sister, take them to change clothes and prepare something to eat."
Jean Grey nodded, then asked,
"Should I prepare some for you too?"
Ignoring the pained expression on the Ancient One's face, Qin Yi nodded.
"Prepare more. I plan to stay for a while."
Only after Phoenix had left did the Ancient One amiably grab Qin Yi's hand.
"Qin, you know Kamar-Taj doesn't have much of an income. If you stay here for two days, I'm afraid you'll eat Kamar-Taj into bankruptcy."
Qin Yi curled his lip. Kamar-Taj was so huge, yet they had never bothered establishing any businesses. What a waste.
"One hundred million. Every year, I'll provide one hundred million in funding to improve the lives of Kamar-Taj's sorcerers. Master Yao, I'll only stay two days. Teach Wanda while I'm here. Later, I'll go to New York, find a suitable house, and take the two of them away."
The Ancient One was clearly tempted. Her wise eyes hesitated for a moment before she asked,
"Only two days, for sure?"
"For sure. Absolutely."
Qin Yi nodded so hard his head bobbed like a rattle-drum.
"Then... when are you transferring the money?"
Qin Yi stared at the sorcerer for a long while before replying,
"I'll have that chubby Wong come with me to collect it later."
The Ancient One smiled and nodded.
Qin Yi seemed to suddenly remember something. Then he leaned close to the Ancient One with a mysterious look.
"I need to tell you something, Old Yao. Don't be scared."
The Ancient One instantly deployed the Mirror Dimension, then nodded solemnly.
"The last time I went to that other universe, I discovered something. The more I've thought about it these past two days, the more wrong it feels."
The Ancient One's wise eyes flickered as she asked,
"What is it?"
Qin Yi organized his thoughts.
"There were no Mutants in that universe. I checked. Not a single Mutant existed there. And even..."
Qin Yi pointed toward the sky before continuing,
"There were no Inhumans on the moon either."
The Ancient One fell silent for a while upon hearing that.
"Are you sure?"
Qin Yi nodded.
"I'm sure."
"Did you see me in that universe?"
Qin Yi thought back for a moment.
"No. I heard you were eaten by zombies."
The Ancient One said nothing more. She closed her eyes, seemingly lost in thought.
After Qin Yi turned and left, closing the door behind him, a faint smile appeared on his lips.
To keep the Ancient One from stopping me, I've really gone to great lengths.
But whether this merged universe's future would still unfold as it had in his memories was truly unclear. Perhaps the future had already changed the first time he altered the timeline.
Forget it. No point thinking about that now. He should find Charles when he had the chance.
If he delayed a few more days, they would probably all be captured by the government and used for research.
After taking a stroll around Kamar-Taj, Qin Yi ran into Wanda and Pietro, who had finished changing clothes.
The two stared at a group of sorcerers in the square, who were drawing glowing portals under Mordo and Kaecilius's leadership.
Eleven-year-old Wanda and Pietro looked much frailer than children their age. Qin Yi walked over and smilingly rubbed Pietro's head.
"Want to learn?"
Pietro pushed Qin Yi's hand away and asked,
"If I learn, can I become like you?"
Looking at Pietro, who was gesturing as though piloting a Gundam, Qin Yi grinned mischievously.
"You can become even stronger than me. I'm only their junior brother. Just think about how powerful they are."
Hearing that, Pietro excitedly grabbed his sister's hand. Wanda secretly glanced at Qin Yi.
"You two stay here and learn properly from the sorcerers. I'm going back to New York to handle something. I'll come pick you up in a few days."
With that, Qin Yi vanished before them in a ripple of spatial energy.
Pietro grew even more excited. Holding Wanda's hand, he said eagerly,
"Wanda, we'll be able to do that someday too. No, I'll be even stronger than him."
Wanda stared at the spot where Qin Yi had disappeared and softly said,
"We haven't even thanked him yet."
Pietro kept staring at the sorcerers in the square, waiting until they finished training. Then he grabbed Wanda's hand and rushed up to Mordo. Bowing as he spoke, he said,
"Sorcerer, please teach us."
Mordo looked at the two in Kamar-Taj apprentice robes with surprise. They must have been newly recruited apprentices. This batch was pretty good—quite teachable.
"Today's practice is over. Come tomorrow morning and learn with the others."
Pietro excitedly bowed to Mordo's departing back.
Meanwhile, in Times Square, New York.
Jean Grey, dressed in casual clothes, held Qin Yi's hand as they wandered around aimlessly. Qin Yi glanced at his senior sister beside him and could not help asking,
"Senior Sister, aren't you curious about the memories you lost?"
Over the years, Qin Yi had wanted to ask Jean Grey that more than once.
"Why think about that? I'm quite happy now. I have a master who cares about me, even if she can be a little strict sometimes. Everyone else in Kamar-Taj treats me well too. Besides, I have you."
Jean Grey gave his hand a meaningful shake.
Qin Yi silently thought to himself.
All right. This is good too.
"Come on. You promised me that you'd take me to the amusement park today."
Jean Grey pulled Qin Yi along, skipping toward the amusement park.
At a military base somewhere.
After excitedly comparing the girl in the footage, the surveillance officer picked up the phone beside him and made a call.
"Sir, we've found Phoenix, a former X-Men member."
Not long after, General Ross rushed into the surveillance room. After confirming the information, he issued an arrest order.
At the amusement park.
As the roller coaster slowly climbed its first hill, it suddenly plunged at high speed. Jean Grey tightly gripped Qin Yi's hand and began screaming along with the crowd.
Amid the waves of screams, Qin Yi glanced at the girl's profile beside him.
This really is nice.
The two played at the amusement park until late at night. After getting off the Ferris wheel, Jean Grey excitedly grabbed Qin Yi's hand.
"Junior Brother, remember to bring me here again next time, okay?"
Qin Yi smiled and nodded. The two walked over to a bench and sat down.
Jean Grey rested her head against her junior brother's shoulder. Seeing Qin Yi seemingly conjure two ice creams from thin air, she accepted one and could not help laughing.
"Junior Brother, is your magic storage space filled entirely with food? I'm so jealous. No matter how much you eat, you never gain weight."
"Probably. I don't know either."
The two chatted aimlessly until someone disturbed their brief moment of peace.
As he sensed more and more people closing in on them,
Qin Yi stopped his senior sister, who had been about to act, and shook his head.
"Forget it. I'll deal with it later. Let's go back first."
Jean Grey nodded, and the two vanished from the amusement park in a ripple of spatial energy.
By the time a group of military special forces soldiers rushed over,
"Reporting, sir. The targets have been lost."
General Ross stubbornly stared at the surveillance feeds covering every exit of the amusement park.
"Search every entrance and exit one by one. Have the reconnaissance aircraft above keep watch. I refuse to believe they can just fly away."
"Understood."
Ross turned and asked the secretary beside him,
"Have you identified the kid beside Phoenix?"
After accepting the documents handed over by the secretary, Ross frowned deeply.
"There's no more detailed information?"
"Sir, this was obtained from his school enrollment records. This person is very mysterious. We can't find any other information. Our people can't reach individuals at that level unless..."
"Speak plainly."
"Rhodes in the Air Force is a friend of Tony Stark. Perhaps we can get some useful information through him."
Ross fell silent for a while before saying,
"Stark Industries... Stark Communications Group... Suspend all investigations into him."
Though confused, the secretary still replied,
"Yes, sir."
Ross stood up, walked into his office, and closed the door. Then he secretly dialed a number. An irritating voice came from the other end.
"Well, General Ross. What can I do for you?"
Though he disliked the man, Ross still responded,
"Find somewhere suitable to talk."
At S.H.I.E.L.D.
After hearing that, the one-eyed Black man closed his office door.
"Go ahead."
"I need information on someone."
The one-eyed Black man, Nick Fury, asked curiously,
"Who? Someone your military can't investigate?"
"Qin Yi. Howard's boy."
Ross waited for a long time, but there was no response from the other end.
"Fury?"
"Oh, I'm... looking him up. He's a Mutant too."
Ross nodded in apparent understanding.
"What level?"
"Probably a Level Three Mutant."
After Ross hung up, a plan slowly took shape in his mind.
At S.H.I.E.L.D.
Nick Fury stood by the window, the corner of his mouth slowly lifting.
Ross, you'd better bring this person over to my side.
Before you continue
