A dozen seconds later.
"Boom, boom, boom!" A series of explosions erupted against the walls, startling the Imperium soldiers who had been keeping watch over the main entrance. They turned toward the blasts as the warship's thick alloy walls were torn open with massive breaches by the high-powered explosives.
Before the shockwaves had fully dissipated, large numbers of combat robots rushed into the hall through the blasted openings. They swiftly charged toward the Imperium soldiers behind the barricades.
The Ripper Rifles in their hands and the heavy laser guns mounted on their shoulders fired continuously at the Imperium soldiers. Many who had yet to react were struck by the concentrated barrage, their dying screams echoing throughout the hall.
"Attack! Attack! Wipe out these heretics!" The officers roared, continuously directing the Imperium soldiers to counterattack.
Under the officers' command, the Imperium soldiers quickly recovered. They rested their weapons atop the barricades and pulled the triggers at the combat robots pouring inside.
"Rat-a-tat-tat!"
"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!"
Intense gunfire immediately filled the hall. The combat robots charged toward the Imperium soldiers' positions, their Ripper Rifles accurately striking Imperium soldiers even as they ran. Large numbers of Imperium soldiers died beneath the combat robots' assault.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Seeing the combat robots rushing toward the defensive positions, the soldiers manning the close-in defense cannons struggled to turn the barrels and opened fire on the approaching machines.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Large numbers of combat robots were easily destroyed by the close-in defense cannons' overwhelming firepower. However, these combat robots felt no fear and would not halt their charge because of their comrades' destruction.
Even after the combat robots were destroyed, their combat-record terminals transmitted the data back to the server terminals in the Defense Force fortress. The robots would simply be manufactured again.
