The Art Student had just wielded the mighty power of the C'tan, effortlessly altering the physical laws within a certain range around himself. This was only the Art Student's shallow initial application, yet it had turned a slender cigarette into a thick cigar.
C'tan.
A powerful race from tens of millions of years ago, beings formed from physical laws themselves. They could easily alter anything in the physical universe. Every C'tan was incomparably powerful, commanding one physical law, while the strongest could command even two.
For example, the Void Dragon commanded technology and creation.
With a mere gesture, a C'tan could easily crush a planet, stir boundless celestial phenomena, and alter the operation of an entire star system.
If the Chaos Gods of the Warp stood at the pinnacle of the Warp, then the C'tan stood at the pinnacle of individuals in the material universe. The Chaos Gods could not defeat the C'tan in the physical universe, while the C'tan could not defeat the Chaos Gods in the Warp. The two were utterly opposed existences.
The Necrons, now hailed as the pinnacle of technology, had merely been servants of the C'tan in ancient times. Only after the C'tan's civil war had they been able to seize the opportunity and defeat the powerful C'tan.
Yet even after defeating the C'tan weakened by civil war, their own strength had been damaged. They could no longer face the creations of the Old Ones—the Aeldari and the Orks—and could only fall into slumber.
They had hoped that, in the future, the Aeldari and Orks would descend into civil war. As creations of the Old Ones, they could not possibly live peacefully together in the Galaxy. Even if the Aeldari were willing, the warlike Greenskins would never accept peace. Then the Silent King could emerge to reap the fruits of victory and monopolize the Galaxy.
The ability the Art Student had just acquired came from a small fragment of the Void Dragon, the most powerful of the C'tan. It held only five percent of the Void Dragon's authority at its peak.
As the Art Student fell after being kicked out of the Warp, he had smashed into a small Void Dragon fragment wandering aimlessly here. It was an incomplete fragment of the Void Dragon, and its memories were incomplete as well, often plunging it into confusion.
One second, its memories were of soaring through the void of the universe as a being of energy. The next, they might be of the Void Dragon waging a massive war against the Old Ones in the Galaxy. The second after that, the Void Dragon might be researching all manner of powerful technology alone.
Because of its scrambled memories, the Void Dragon fragment often could not tell whether it was in reality or illusion, leaving it unable to fully wield even the C'tan's mighty power.
Even the tiniest fragment of a C'tan was an immensely powerful existence. A C'tan fragment possessed godlike might and could easily wipe out an entire Space Marine Chapter.
So the Art Student's ability to devour the Void Dragon fragment had been a complete accident. The instant the Void Dragon noticed him, it had entered the Art Student's domain and been forcibly suppressed.
Before the Void Dragon could even unleash the C'tan's most basic Dimensional Lightning or any of its derivative abilities, the Art Student had arrived before it. The moment their bodies touched, it was completely devoured by the Art Student.
Though it was only a small fragment of the Void Dragon, the scattered memories contained within it still struck the Art Student with pain so intense he wished he were dead.
"Hahaha! This is the proper way for a transmigrator to begin! Corpse Emperor, Corpse Emperor, you attacked me the moment I arrived in this world. Since you have shown me no mercy, don't blame me for being ruthless. Now that I have power, how could a great man remain depressed beneath another for long?
I want the position of Lord of Humanity too. Just wait until I lead tens of billions of Space Marines into the Solar System and kick you off that throne."
The Art Student lay on the ground, staring into the dim space. Thinking of the power he had gained, he could not help bursting into wild laughter.
Whenever the Art Student recalled how he had trembled all over in the Warp, frightened by five gods, he could not help feeling furious.
Moreover, the Emperor, as the Lord of Humanity, had attacked him as well. He had only just arrived in this world, yet he had been treated this way by another human.
This was merely the consequence of an ordinary human suddenly gaining power beyond imagination.
"But I'm still weak. I can't get cocky. I need to keep my head down—the bird that sticks out gets shot."
After swelling with confidence for a while, the Art Student gradually calmed down. Thanks to the education he had received and the lessons he had learned over years of struggling through society, he knew that while everything remained uncertain, it was better to keep a low profile.
Though he had completely absorbed a small Void Dragon fragment and was no longer an ordinary human, possessing considerable power, he was still not at the point where he could swagger through the world. Besides, the Warhammer Universe lacked nothing more than powerful beings.
C'tan fragments were not invincible either. After all, there was precedent for a C'tan fragment being run over by Krieg, which was made entirely of mortals.
At any moment, someone capable of destroying a planet with one hand might suddenly emerge somewhere in the Galaxy. Such things were impossible to predict.
Besides, his strength had not yet reached the point where he could swagger through the Galaxy. Only the Void Dragon at its peak had that capability. Right now, he was merely a small fry.
The Art Student recalled the ability he had always possessed. Because his former world had contained no supernatural phenomena, it had made little difference whether he had this ability or not.
But after transmigrating into the Warhammer Universe, a place filled with all kinds of monsters and fiends, this ability had been fully activated and completely revealed.
Anti-Magic Body.
When within the domain of the Art Student's Anti-Magic Body, all supernatural abilities completely failed. Psychic powers, sorcery, magic, the C'tan's Dimensional Lightning, and all similar supernatural abilities would be suppressed by the Art Student and could even backlash against the beings possessing them.
Furthermore, the stronger the Art Student's physical body became, the more his domain would expand. With enough faith, the domain's range would also expand.
Whenever someone within the Art Student's domain attempted to use such supernatural abilities, the backlash would become even stronger.
Just as in the Warp, when a Daemon accidentally entered the Art Student's domain, it had died outright from the backlash.
Any existence that died within the Psychic Null Field would be utterly annihilated, body and soul. For the Daemons of the Warp, this was the most terrifying fate of all.
After the Art Student had completely devoured the Void Dragon fragment, his body had become even stronger. His Psychic Null Field was now ten times larger than when he had first transmigrated.
The Psychic Null Field now had a radius of a full ten thousand meters, making it extremely powerful.
The Art Student no longer feared psykers. Unless they were capable of destroying planets with psychic power, anyone who came near him would be suppressed.
