The Greenskin boss led his boys as they quietly approached the Defense Force positions. The Ork boss believed his stealth skills would keep them from being spotted by the humies, but this Greenskin squad had been detected the moment it appeared near the base. Only Anrida's orders had stopped the Defense Force soldiers from killing them.
Anrida's purpose in doing this was to gather more data on the Greenskins and test the Art Student's research results.
Once the anti-magic field had suppressed the Orks' stealth abilities, they were easily exposed by scanners combining lasers, infrared detection, biological radar, life detection, and other technologies. No matter how well they hid, they had been discovered the instant they appeared.
The soldiers monitoring this Ork squad immediately reported to Anrida after noticing them approaching the positions. "Commander, the Orks are sneaking toward the base. Looks like they're planning something. Should we take them out?"
Anrida, who was directing the battle from the command vehicle, received the intelligence from the observers and saw that this Ork squad was preparing to act.
Anrida checked the information Gaia had collected and found that there was no more data to be gathered from this Ork squad. There was no point in keeping them alive any longer, so he said to the observers:
"This Ork squad is no longer useful. Since they want to cause trouble, eliminate them."
After saying that, Anrida stopped paying attention to the matter and continued directing this massive war. There was no need to waste his energy on a few Orks.
After receiving the order, the observers unleashed a barrage on the Ork squad. Before the entire squad could react, they were easily wiped out by the Defense Force soldiers.
Gray led the Space Marines through the Orks' interception and closed in on the Killa Kans and Dirty Tanks.
Gray said to the Space Marines, "Split up. Once you destroy the Orks' armored units, withdraw from the battlefield immediately. Do not get drawn into a prolonged fight."
"Yes, sir. We definitely won't get drawn in." The Space Marines promptly answered Gray's order.
After approaching an Ork tank, a Space Marine pulled out a compressed melta grenade hanging from his waist, removed its safety pin, and threw it at the tank. The moment he released the grenade, he sprinted aside, getting as far away from the tank as possible.
The melta grenade stuck firmly to the Ork tank's armor upon contact. Even when an Ork spotted the grenade attached to the tank and tried to pull it off, its immense strength was still not enough to tear away the grenade.
"BOOM!" With a violent explosion, the enormous Ork tank was blasted into fragments by a tiny grenade. The shockwave from the explosion swept across a radius of a hundred meters, melting everything within that area into vapor.
The Space Marines destroyed the Ork tanks one after another. In a short time, every Ork tank had been destroyed by melta grenades.
Now the Orks' only remaining armored units were the more troublesome Killa Kans. This had been the Space Marines' plan from the start: destroy the easier Ork tanks first, then leave the more troublesome Killa Kans for last.
Once all the Ork tanks had been destroyed, the remaining several dozen Killa Kans had to face the attacks of over a thousand Apocalypse Tanks alone.
Although the Killa Kans were more agile than tanks, their armor was not as thick. Under the concentrated fire of the Apocalypse Tanks, they could only keep dodging.
Some stubborn Gretchin piloting Killa Kans also charged toward the Apocalypse Tanks, hoping to fight them in close combat. The Apocalypse Tanks did not engage the Killa Kans at close range, instead relying on their overwhelming firepower to utterly destroy them.
Iron Bull watched as the Dirty Tanks he had placed his greatest hopes in were all destroyed by the humie cans, while the number of remaining Killa Kans continued to dwindle. Fury immediately surged through him, and he no longer cared about his original plan.
Iron Bull roared furiously:
"WAAAAAAHG!"
"All of you, get up there! I'm gonna hang the humie cans' heads from my boss rack!"
Iron Bull charged out from among the Orks in fury, leading his boss guards straight at the Space Marines. The massive Boltgun mounted on his left arm fired continuously at them.
The other Ork bosses still directing their boys saw their own boss charging out with his guards. They no longer cared about their underlings either, rushing out from the Ork horde and charging toward the Space Marines.
After leading his men in eliminating the Ork tanks, Gray had the Space Marines continue destroying the Orks' Killa Kans in combat squads.
A danger warning flashed across Gray's helmet lenses. Looking in the direction it came from, he saw a large group of Ork bosses over three meters tall charging toward the center of the battlefield. Judging by their aggressive momentum, their target was the Space Marines.
The leading Ork boss was nearly five meters tall, and his powered armor was more refined than that of the other bosses. Gray recognized him as Iron Bull, the boss of this Ork force.
Gray quickly warned them over the comms channel, "The Ork bosses are out. Deal with the bosses before destroying the Killa Kans. Stay safe."
The Space Marines stopped their charge toward the Killa Kans and looked toward the group of Ork bosses, seeing a large number of them charging toward the center of the battlefield under Iron Bull's lead.
The Space Marines were not particularly flustered by the sight of so many Ork bosses charging at them. One of them even asked over the comms channel:
"Captain Gray, are you going to duel the Ork boss, Iron Bull? We can clear a proper battlefield for you and let you take the Ork boss's head as your trophy."
Gray glanced at the Space Marine who had spoken and found it was his adjutant, Mo Tuo. Gray replied calmly:
"I don't need an Ork boss's head as a trophy. I don't have that kind of strange hobby. Only barbarians treat dead men's heads as trophies."
Mo Tuo shook his head and stopped teasing Gray. He charged toward the oncoming Ork bosses as well. With the Power Swords in their hands, the Space Marines could easily cut through the powered armor worn by the Ork bosses.
A Space Marine only needed one swing of his Power Sword to kill an ordinary Ork. Against these Ork bosses between three and four meters tall, victory could also be decided within a few moves.
The Space Marines possessed overwhelming strength when facing these Ork bosses.
Although Mo Tuo had only been joking, the Space Marines still tacitly left Iron Bull to Gray, allowing the Ork boss Iron Bull to fight Gray. In such a guaranteed victory, there was no need to steal their superior's military merit.
