Gray saw that none of the Space Marines had attacked Iron Bull, the Ork boss. They were all dealing with the other Ork bosses around him, so Gray naturally understood what the Space Marines were thinking. Left with no choice, he advanced to meet Iron Bull himself.
Iron Bull, unable to find an opponent, saw a tinier humie can who was slightly bigger than the other humie cans charging at him. As he ran, he excitedly called out to Gray:
"WAAAAAAAGH! You're the boss of the humie cans, ain't ya? I'm gonna stick yer skull on me boss pole. Die!"
Gray refused to be outdone by the Ork boss's words. "Damn xenos, who doesn't know how to talk big? I'm going to chop off your head and use it as a toilet decoration."
Upon hearing Gray's words, Iron Bull grew even angrier. "Ah, damn humie can! Ya dare insult me? I'm gonna chop yer head off!"
As the two charged at each other, Gray opened with a blast from his Plasma Pistol. Iron Bull swiftly dodged aside to avoid the plasma beam.
The massive Boltgun in Iron Bull's left hand kept firing at Gray, while Gray nimbly evaded the Ork boss's ranged attacks.
Although Gray's Power Armour possessed a small Void Shield capable of blocking distant attacks, he did not enjoy standing still and trading shots with an enemy. He preferred to rely on his agility and speed to evade.
Gray holstered the Plasma Pistol, which had entered cooldown, and gripped his Power Sword with both hands as he swiftly slashed at Iron Bull. Facing the incoming attack, Iron Bull raised his left hand to meet the Power Sword.
The deep-blue Power Sword collided with the Power Claw on Iron Bull's left hand, producing a harsh sizzle. Gray and the Ork boss both exerted all their strength, trying to force down the other's weapon.
The power output of Gray's Terminator Armour backpack was pushed to its limit. Although he was somewhat smaller than the Ork boss, with the assistance of his Power Armour, his strength was evenly matched with Iron Bull's.
As Gray and the Ork boss tested each other's strength, Gray noticed energy gathering inside the muzzle installed beneath Iron Bull's Power Claw. A tremendous amount of energy was being condensed for an attack.
Gray took a step back and stopped pressing forward. With a swift rotation of both hands, the Power Sword slashed toward the underside of the Ork boss's Power Claw, intending to cut through the energy conduit of that unknown weapon and ruin the Ork boss's scheme.
When Iron Bull realized Gray had seen through his trick, the muzzle beneath his left-hand Power Claw instantly fired. A torrent of crimson flames erupted from it and shot toward Gray, warping the air with its heat.
Crafty bastard. Gray cursed inwardly as he pushed his power backpack to maximum output and rolled forward. Boosted by the backpack, he swiftly circled behind the Ork boss.
Gray's Power Sword did not remain idle during the roll. It swiftly swept past the Ork boss's ankle, severing Iron Bull's entire foot.
After his surprise flame attack missed, Iron Bull turned his left hand after Gray's moving figure. Then a violent pain suddenly shot up from his foot. Having lost the support of one leg, the Ork boss's huge body became unsteady and began toppling sideways, leaving his defenses full of openings.
As Gray rose to his feet, he drew the fully cooled Plasma Pistol from his waist. Seizing the opportunity, he turned and pulled the trigger at the Ork boss's head.
"Sizzle!" A beam of light shot from the Plasma Pistol and instantly struck Iron Bull in the head.
Iron Bull, still struggling to steady himself, instantly lost consciousness. His body fell limply to the side, and all the Ork boss's grand ambitions came to an end in that moment.
Gray holstered the Plasma Pistol, strode quickly to Iron Bull's corpse, and used his Power Sword to cut off the Ork boss's head, holding it in his hand.
Gray activated the loudspeaker in his helmet, raised the Ork boss's head high with his left hand, and shouted, "The Ork boss is dead!"
Gray's resounding voice rang across the battlefield, drawing the attention of both sides still locked in fierce combat.
The soldiers under the Art Student instantly erupted into excited cheers at the sight before them, their cries growing louder and louder.
"Ohhh! Captain Gray is mighty and imposing!"
"Captain Gray is brave!"
"Captain Gray is invincible!"
The Defense Force soldiers were overjoyed, genuinely delighted by Gray's feat of killing the Ork boss.
Inside the command vehicle, Anrida and Mendeleev saw the Ork boss's head in Gray's hand. Both excitedly slapped the table, rose to their feet, and shouted:
"Captain Gray, well done!"
Anrida immediately contacted the tank battalion and said to its commander, "If the Orks retreat, take the initiative and attack. Kill more Orks and expand our gains."
The tank battalion commander also said excitedly over the communication channel, "Yes, sir! Mission guaranteed!"
When the Orks discovered that Gray was holding their boss's head, their soaring morale instantly collapsed. The moment their boss died, the Orks sensed that their connection to him had been severed, and they could no longer feel the presence of their comrades.
"Boss Iron Bull got killed by a humie can!"
"Invincible Boss Iron Bull got killed by humies!"
"We lost! Run!"
The Orks instantly fell into chaos. After seeing Iron Bull's head, large numbers of Ork boys fled the battlefield. They no longer attacked the base; the Orks had completely lost their will to fight.
The vast Ork army scattered and fled in every direction, no longer caring about their own kind still at the front lines.
Seeing the Orks fleeing in all directions, Gray knew they had won this battle. He loudly issued an order to his own soldiers.
"Tank forces and Space Marines, charge with me! Destroy the Orks!"
After receiving Gray's order, the Apocalypse Tanks that had been sniping Killa Kans from afar stopped targeting the Orks at range and drove after the fleeing Orks.
It was now extremely easy for the Apocalypse Tanks to attack the fleeing Killa Kans. A few shots from their heavy siege cannons blasted a Killa Kan into fragments.
Gray led the Space Marines at the very front, followed by more than a thousand Apocalypse Tanks, as they hunted down the fleeing Orks.
