The Art Student's brain, enhanced by the C'tan, could now easily recall every experience he had gone through over the past twenty-odd years, along with all the knowledge he had learned and seen.
The Art Student could extract useful fragments of memory in his mind, replaying them like a movie, slowing the playback speed infinitely and watching them frame by frame.
While reviewing one such fragment in his mind, the Art Student deliberately manipulated the physical distortion within an area, turning hard rocks into gravel, then altering the physical properties of the gravel and transforming it into parts made of various types of steel.
Under the Art Student's continuous control, the steel parts constantly assembled themselves into a firearm—a weapon with the highest production and kill count in modern human society: the AK.
An AK rifle was easily made by the Art Student. Holding it in his hands, he found it far too small. Its one-meter-long body was perfectly suitable for an ordinary person.
But for the Art Student, now a 3.5-meter-tall giant, it was indeed rather tiny. He could not even pull the trigger while holding it.
The Art Student realized that after growing so much larger, everything that had once been normal-sized for humans was no longer suitable for him. He needed to adjust the weapon's dimensions to fit himself.
After the Art Student's repeated adjustments, the rifle's appearance had changed drastically, and it no longer had anything to do with the AK.
The rifle was over two meters long overall, with a thicker body. It was made of high-strength alloy, and its barrel had become sturdy and durable.
The bullets also changed accordingly. Their caliber went from the ordinary 7.62 millimeters to 20 millimeters. The warheads were no longer ordinary lead bullets either, but tungsten steel projectiles with far greater destructive power, while the gunpowder charge was greatly increased as well.
All these figures had been analyzed in the Art Student's brain. The actual results had not yet been tested, and the firearm's specifications still existed only on paper.
Of course, the Art Student had great confidence in his current abilities. He did not think he would make a piece of junk. Even if it was junk, he could continuously improve it until it was no longer junk.
The Art Student carefully handled the thick rifle in his hands. This was the dream gun he had long yearned for. In the past, it had been impossible for him to even touch firearms. He could not afford the cost of going to a shooting range, so he could only watch foreign gun shooting videos online to satisfy his cravings.
Now that he was holding the real thing—and one he had made himself—the Art Student could hardly bear to put it down.
Cradling the rifle, the Art Student muttered to himself.
"It really makes people love it and hate it."
"Let me give you a new name. Your old name is no longer worthy of you. Hmm! I'll call you Ripper. Tear apart every enemy standing in my way."
The Art Student spoke cheerfully to this experimental gun.
The Art Student himself knew that the current Ripper was only the most primitive version and certainly had many shortcomings. It could not compare to the boltguns of the Imperium of Man, but after his continuous improvements, its reputation would surely surpass that of the Imperium's boltguns.
The Art Student lay on the ground for more than half an hour before he felt a trace of strength return to his body. Leaning on the Ripper Rifle, he slowly climbed to his feet and finally took a careful look at the dim surroundings.
Even with his superhuman vision, the Art Student could only see a few hundred meters around him. This place was simply too dark; there was not the slightest trace of light.
With no other choice, the Art Student made a pair of night-vision goggles. Only after putting them on could he clearly see the surrounding environment. The goggles' terminal was connected to his phone. All information received by the goggles would be uploaded, analyzed by the phone, and then displayed through the goggles.
The night-vision goggles determined that this was a karst cave—a vast underground cavern over six hundred meters high. Its boundaries were nowhere in sight, and there was not the slightest sign of living creatures.
"What kind of strange world have I come to? Don't tell me it's a death world! That would be rather bad."
Looking at the analysis data on the night-vision goggles, the Art Student could not help feeling worried.
The Art Student still hoped to find a planet inhabited by humans. That way, he could continue conducting all kinds of research, recruit troops, and expand his power.
If this was a death world, then he had truly started with the worst possible hand.
"Forget it. Since I'm here, I'll make the best of it. I'll familiarize myself with the surroundings first and figure out the local situation before making any plans."
The Art Student could only keep comforting himself.
The Art Student held the Ripper Rifle against his chest and kept walking in one direction by instinct.
The Art Student could not be bothered to count how long he had walked. He only felt that the elevation was getting lower and lower. Gradually, he smelled a foul stench in the air. It was like a mixture of countless chemicals that had fermented over many years, slowly producing a unique odor.
The stench was unbearably foul and pungent. For the Art Student, whose senses were superhuman, it was tremendous torture.
The moment he smelled it, his brain had already analyzed it. It was the foul odor produced by environmental pollution caused by inadequate treatment after extracting raw materials for various chemical products, mixed with all kinds of human sewage.
The Art Student could only make another gas mask and put it on, blocking the stench from entering his nostrils.
"Whew! This has to be a hive world. Only a hive world could have chemical waste this potent."
After using the gas mask to block out the smell, the Art Student recalled the descriptions of hive world environments in Warhammer World.
Just then, his night-vision goggles issued a danger warning. Three large monsters were lunging toward the Art Student. They clearly came with hostile intent, and he did not hesitate. Raising the Ripper Rifle, he fired in the direction from which the monsters were charging.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Three consecutive thunderous gunshots echoed through the empty underground cavern. The monsters lunging at the Art Student shuddered as though struck by giant hammers, then collapsed to the ground and stopped moving.
"Not bad. I killed these monsters without needing to finish them off."
Looking at his handiwork, the Art Student could not help feeling extremely satisfied with his performance. On his first time using a firearm, he had accurately killed one monster with a single shot each.
Moreover, after the massive Ripper Rifle fired, its immense recoil felt like nothing to the Art Student. He could simply stand there and fire.
