Yesterday was the first day of recommendations, and a lot of friends came to read. You also left plenty of comments and requests for updates, which made me very happy.
But before I continue writing, there are a few matters I feel I need to discuss with everyone to avoid any misunderstandings.
First of all, the purpose of this book is to tell a story, and everything will revolve around that story. Therefore, for the sake of plot consistency and certain necessary settings, I will make some adaptations and changes to the original work's setting. This includes certain settings that were not particularly rigorous, or were vague and dispensable. Everything is for the better development of the story.
I admit that this is not rigorous enough and does not adhere closely enough to the original setting, but for my story, it is essential and necessary.
Next, I'll explain some issues I discussed with a few friends.
First, why did the protagonist pass out after landing a Black Flash? Before discussing that, we need to talk about the definition of Black Flash. Many people said that landing a Black Flash could restore one's condition, perhaps treating it as an instant recovery of health and mana.
But that was not what I saw in the actual story. My understanding is that the instant a Black Flash is landed, the user enters a wonderful state—the so-called zone, or flow state.
In this state, the user's control and understanding of cursed energy are greatly enhanced, and their potential is brought out to 120%.
Once cursed energy efficiency rises, consumption drops dramatically. On top of that, cursed energy itself recovers, creating an effect similar to rapidly restoring mana. But this is not a direct effect of Black Flash; it happens indirectly.
As for restoring health, I think many people may have mistaken Gojo Satoru's recovery of his Reverse Cursed Technique circuitry after landing two Black Flashes, improving the efficiency of his Reverse Cursed Technique, and then using it to heal his body, for a permanent effect.
Then there is the issue of Black Flash's numerical value. A power of 2.5 is absolutely not a normal figure. Gege Akutami is a liberal arts student and has no real concept of many things in the sciences. He simply used certain settings to make it seem more impressive.
For example, the definition of Perfect Sphere or Black Flash's power-of-2.5 figure—just look them up, and you'll see how terrifying they are.
So, based on Black Flash's actual performance in the original work, I readjusted this range.
Now that we've finished discussing Black Flash, let's return to why the protagonist passed out.
Because the protagonist is an ordinary person. Under Utahime's guidance, he only barely mastered a method of controlling part of his cursed energy. When he landed a Black Flash and entered that wonderful state, his brain and body had not yet adapted to it, so the sudden flood of information overwhelmed him and caused him to lose consciousness.
Although his physical strength surpasses that of an ordinary person, it has not reached its limit. When Black Flash erupted, cursed energy covered his body and instinctively reinforced it, but he still suffered some minor injuries. This was the cracking and bleeding shown in the story.
But it was not serious. After receiving a little treatment from a physician, he would recover completely. That was also why the protagonist noticed nothing unusual after waking up.
The reason his control and understanding of cursed energy later improved so quickly also had to do with the imprint left within his body after that first Black Flash.
Although the state entered through Black Flash is time-limited, the body instinctively remembers those sensations, making it easier for the protagonist to gain a deeper understanding and control of them.
Next is the matter of pacing. Since this book is expected to be relatively long—at least around two million Chinese characters—the early stages will mainly focus on buildup and establishing relationships. Therefore, the protagonist's romantic progress with the heroines will not be especially fast.
I understand that some readers enjoy stories where the protagonist quickly gets along with, or gets together with, the heroines. But this is a relatively long process, so I hope everyone can be a little more patient and understanding.
Now that I've finished discussing the more important issues, let me talk about my own thoughts.
I understand that some readers, because they love the original work, place great importance on certain settings and the endings and stories of certain characters.
But this is ultimately a fanfiction novel, and personally, I do not particularly like tragedies. So I will make many changes to the story directions and endings of some characters.
As a result, I may not be able to accommodate the feelings of some readers, so let me apologize in advance.
Lastly, it is my honor that everyone is willing to support my work. Thank you all very much. (bows manually)
PS: The main story will update as usual tonight. This chapter does not count toward the update word count; it is purely to have a chat with everyone. See you later.
