Background / History

Utahime encounters Toho Tetsu during a Grade 2 cursed-spirit incident in a subway station. Believing the unfamiliar boy to be a combat-capable sorcerer, she performs her support technique and urges him to attack. When he reveals that he has never used cursed energy, she quickly adapts, teaching him to visualize and push cursed energy through his body while he evades the spirit. Her guidance enables him to draw out cursed energy for the first time. 2 3

After Tetsu awakens in Jujutsu High's infirmary, Utahime escorts him to Yaga Masamichi for questioning. When Jujutsu High places him under probationary observation, Yaga appoints her as his watcher and basic instructor, with Mei Mei scheduled to rotate into the role. 4 8
