In an instant, Zhang Ye felt as though he had been dragged into a little world of his own.

The noisy, chaotic sounds around him gradually faded away, leaving only Zhang Ye calmly watching General Zod continue to speak on the screen.

So, this is DC's Movie Universe? Zhang Ye frowned deeply, his emotions a tangled mess.

Generally speaking, movie universes were much safer than comic book or animated universes. Because they were live-action and special effects were expensive, most movie superhero worlds underwent some degree of "nerfing," making their characters far less terrifying than their comic counterparts.

However, DC's Movie Universe was clearly an exception.

Judging from what the films showed, Zhang Ye did not think he had any chance of resisting the "monsters" in this world. In the comics, even an ordinary person like Captain Boomerang could trade blows with The Flash. Even Captain Boomerang from the Green Arrow universe could pose some threat to Green Arrow and The Flash.

But in the Movie Universe, Captain Boomerang, a somewhat well-known minor villain despite being an ordinary man, was instantly taken down by The Flash in a single encounter.

So, by that logic, The Flash was not even capable of facing Superman head-on, while ordinary people were basically instantly defeated before The Flash. That was enough to show just how terrifying the villains capable of going toe-to-toe with Superman in this world were.

Forget Zhang Ye alone—even with Quicksilver Pietro added in, Zhang Ye doubted he could fully guarantee their safety.

General Zod and Superman's battle had nearly destroyed half of Metropolis. In a fight of that level, even the shockwaves could kill swaths of people. Even Batman had to stay "obediently" below and watch. How could ordinary people possibly interfere?

Besides, this universe was nowhere near as wonderful as it seemed. Like other DC universes, this damned place still could not escape the fate of being rebooted.

If he remembered correctly, what was happening now should be the plot of Man of Steel. General Zod had spent fifty years coming to Earth in order to find the genetic codex containing all of Krypton's gene samples, and he had come specifically for Superman.

In this storyline, when Superman was born, his father injected all of Krypton's gene samples and reserves into Superman's body before sending him to Earth. That was also the fundamental reason General Zod had come to Earth.

"Looks like I need to find a way to leave Metropolis as soon as possible." Zhang Ye quickly came up with a plan. Ignoring the amazement and fear around him caused by General Zod's appearance, he turned and headed toward the hotel.

Now that he knew which universe he was in, there was no need to rush into gathering intelligence. Overall, as the first installment of DC's Movie Universe, this point in the timeline was still quite safe.

General Zod had Superman to deal with him. Zhang Ye just needed to get out of here quickly. They could fight all they wanted, as long as it did not affect him.

Although Darkseid would appear in the future, and there was a strong chance that this planet would be destroyed by Darkseid before The Flash traveled through the timeline to reboot everything, that was years away. He still had plenty of time.

Perfect. He could use this opportunity to figure out why the Time Twister had sent him to this universe.

The DC Universe and the Marvel Universe were two completely different worlds. Though both had superheroes and concepts such as the Multiverse and parallel universes, they were fundamentally distinct. Their universal laws, conservation of energy, and concepts of creation differed enormously.

Taking the Time Twister from his pocket, Zhang Ye looked at its screen, which still showed no response, and let out a small sigh of relief.

The two universes had not been entirely without interaction. At least in the comics, Zhang Ye had seen several collaborative publications from the two companies. The most famous was probably Justice League vs. Avengers, though that was more of a fun crossover comic than anything else.

But now that Zhang Ye had personally experienced crossing from Marvel to DC, he had no choice but to take it seriously.

If Marvel time and DC time truly had a connection, then it definitely was not something simple. Both worlds possessed vast Multiverses, so they could not possibly intersect so closely. In other words, there could not be many universes that truly allowed passage between the two worlds.

Thinking of this, Zhang Ye could not help recalling the enormous "Multiversal World Tree" made of starlight that he had seen during the crossing. If that World Tree represented the Marvel Universe, then there should likewise be another World Tree belonging to the DC Universe.

These two World Trees were both composed of Multiverses developed from different timelines. They were constantly growing, expanding, influencing one another, and colliding. Eventually, several Multiversal timelines would inevitably become "entangled."

And that was the first point of contact between the Multiversal World Trees of two independent timelines. Those Multiverses that became wrongly entangled would turn into "anchors," deepening the connection between two different universes.

"So, if we look at it that way, it wasn't that a passage opened between the two universes. Rather, one of Marvel's countless infinite Multiverses happened to connect with one timeline in the DC Universe, ultimately causing this mistaken crossing."

Zhang Ye stroked his chin. He was no academic genius, so he did not understand this kind of advanced physics very well. He could only make guesses in a way that roughly matched what he had seen and experienced.

After all, this was the first time he had encountered something like this. Before crossing over, he had even believed those comics were fictional works that could never truly exist.

But as Zhang Ye thought this far, he suddenly recalled some even more terrifying possibilities.

If he remembered correctly, in his previous life, DC Comics had also crossed over with the MonsterVerse. The Justice League, Godzilla, and Kong would become entangled as well. On top of that, Marvel had Predator vs. Wolverine. Could it be that...

Zhang Ye did not dare think any further. He only felt that his situation was incredibly dangerous, and his mind was in complete turmoil. Having gone through so much in such a short time, the pressure on him only grew heavier.

He should go back and get a good night's sleep first. There was no point in thinking any more about it. Shaking his head, Zhang Ye cast all the messy thoughts from his mind, then turned into an alley.

This alley was a shortcut back to the hotel. Usually, almost no one walked through it; only scavengers or people living nearby used this route. There were very few pedestrians on the street at the moment, only Zhang Ye and a pair of twins approaching him.

Zhang Ye rubbed his temples, trying not to think about all those pointless things. Right now, the most important thing for him was to get some proper rest. He had driven the entire way here and had not dared stop even while passing through war zones. Only now had he finally relaxed, and his eyes were already bloodshot.

The two men approaching him looked like twins, and they were muttering quietly to each other. Zhang Ye instinctively stepped aside to let them pass.

But just as they crossed paths, the utterly exhausted Zhang Ye suddenly heard something—a sentence that made him break out in a cold sweat.

He instantly snapped awake!

"...I don't know... General Zod."

"...We need to assemble the Justice League."
