Although he was not entirely sure what had happened, Zhang Ye suspected that this Time Twister had clearly been modified by some powerful being. Otherwise, there was no explaining why it could travel freely between different Multiverses.
Pietro had also revealed earlier that when he saw this Time Twister, he had seen a yellow cookie on it that did nothing but laugh. If Zhang Ye's guess was correct, the yellow cookie Pietro mentioned was the Miss Minutes before him. In other words, the Time Twister had been powered on at that time.
Even when Zhang Ye went to President X's secret chamber and personally picked up the Time Twister, the machine had been powered on. It even had enough charge stored inside for one traversal that could "cross a macrocosmic universe."
That raised a question. Why hadn't President X used Miss Minutes to travel through time when he first obtained this machine? Perhaps he did not know what the machine did, but Miss Minutes did.
Unless Miss Minutes had some unknown secret at the time.
As for the possibility that the previous owner of the Time Twister had been killed by President X, making it President X's trophy, Zhang Ye felt that was impossible.
Leaving aside just how powerful someone capable of modifying a Time Twister would have to be, even if that person had truly died at President X's hands, President X would certainly have obtained his memories. Under those circumstances, President X could not possibly have been unaware of how to use the machine.
What was more, when President X had peered into Zhang Ye's memories, he had become completely immersed in them and unable to pull himself free. That made it clear that President X had never experienced anything beyond the limits of his own understanding.
So, the identity of the Time Twister's previous owner and the reason it had appeared in that universe had become two crushing mountains weighing on Zhang Ye's shoulders, placing immense pressure on him.
But Zhang Ye had no ability to investigate secrets of that level yet. For now, he could only focus on the urgent matter before him.
After a moment of silence, Zhang Ye asked, "Miss Minutes, I want to know how this travel function works. Can I travel freely now?"
"Of course you can! Our archive is connected to the mainframe that observes the Sacred Timeline. No matter how many branches the Sacred Timeline has, we can freely travel to any time node among them."
Miss Minutes spoke with great pride. As she spoke, she conjured an electronic screen out of thin air. Displayed on it was the archive she had mentioned, recording the Sacred Timeline and its branches.
But in the next moment, Miss Minutes' smile froze.
"Eh??? Where did the Sacred Timeline go? Why have all the timeline branches in the archive disappeared? No, there is still one valid record. This one seems to be a record left over from the previous archived data."
"A record left over from the previous archived data?" Zhang Ye froze for a moment.
"Yes." Miss Minutes nodded. "It should be an anchor you left behind when you traveled through the previous timeline branch, so it remained in the current archive."
After hearing the explanation, Zhang Ye understood. This record should be the universe where Pietro was, the parallel universe on the verge of destruction that he had traveled directly into.
"Then can I travel to that world?"
"Of course. Every recorded timeline branch has an anchor that supports travel. You can consume 1% of the charge to travel there." Miss Minutes nodded, or rather, bobbed her body.
"Then does that mean the universe I'm currently in is also in the records now, and it has an anchor for travel as well?" Zhang Ye was somewhat excited.
"Yes. The anchor has been confirmed, and the information is being uploaded. The information for both timeline branches has been saved in the archive. You may travel freely between them."
Zhang Ye thought of something else. The Time Twister could directly locate Asgard, so he hurriedly asked.
"So according to what you're saying, I can travel to any location in that universe, not just Earth?"
"The previous timeline branch, yes. But not this universe, because archive records require time. Without the mainframe's observation, this Time Twister alone would need several months to record a new timeline branch, and it would consume a great deal of charge."
Miss Minutes blinked and asked, "Would you like to record the universe you are currently in? It would consume approximately 43% of the charge and require sixty-six days of analysis."
"No need." Zhang Ye hurriedly refused. He did not have that much time to waste here.
Suddenly, an idea surfaced in Zhang Ye's mind, then vanished in an instant. When he tried to examine it more closely, he found that the thought had already disappeared. It left him somewhat frustrated; he might have overlooked something crucial.
Still, Zhang Ye did not dwell on it. He asked again, "Since there is a complete record of that universe, can you find the location of Asgard in that universe for me?"
"Okay, please wait a moment." Upon hearing this, Miss Minutes immediately got to work. She quickly pulled up the archive's data and began searching through it.
Judging by her manner, Zhang Ye guessed that she was preparing to search through records starting from the Big Bang. Since he had no idea how long it would take, Zhang Ye considered telling her to stop. But to his surprise, just as he was about to speak, Miss Minutes stopped and gave him an answer.
"According to the scan, no record of a civilization called 'Asgard' was found in that timeline branch."
"How is that possible?!" Zhang Ye was somewhat shocked.
He had originally thought that perhaps Asgard had suffered Ragnarok ahead of time and therefore had not appeared on Earth, but Miss Minutes' records left him bewildered.
"What about Kree?" Zhang Ye asked again.
"Please wait." This time, Miss Minutes gave her answer after only a brief search. "The Kree civilization, along with its planet and star system, has been detected. Please select a time node for travel."
"Forget it, no need." Zhang Ye waved a hand. It seemed his earlier guess had been correct. That universe truly was one without any supernatural energy.
It was one thing for there to be no Heaven or Hell, but there were not even alien "gods."
Still, it was not a complete loss. Once technology reached a certain level, it could also bring immense power. He might not be able to get his hands on anything from the magical side, but alien technology was still an option.
But before that, Zhang Ye suddenly thought of something.
"Miss Minutes, help me scan the celestial bodies in that universe."
"What category of celestial body?"
A cold glint flashed through Zhang Ye's eyes as he sneered.
"Red Sun."
