Guilliman stepped forward. His first step seemed slow, but his second carried him across dozens of meters, bringing him before Yvraine.
His right fist shot forward in a simple straight punch, aimed at her face!
There was nothing fancy about the punch, yet it carried an overbearing force that seemed capable of crushing everything.
The air along its path was compressed to the extreme, producing a thunderous sonic boom!
Can't take that head-on!
Yvraine's heart raced as the Eldar's precognition of danger blared frantically.
She bent her knees slightly and drifted backward as though she had lost all weight.
At the same time, she brushed her left hand across her waist, and a dim spear-shaped shadow that seemed condensed from psychic energy instantly formed in her grasp—Psychic Spear!
She did not throw it. Instead, she used the spear as a sword, barely managing to deflect Guilliman's fist with the side of its shaft.
BOOM!!!
An even greater explosion rang out!
The dim glow on the Psychic Spear flickered violently.
Yvraine felt as though she had been struck head-on by a small asteroid.
Even though she had deflected the blow with skill and borrowed its force to retreat, the terrifying power still sent her blood surging and left the arm holding the spear numb and aching.
She used the momentum to flip backward. After landing, she tapped lightly against the ground several times before barely shedding most of the impact, finally stopping more than thirty meters away.
"Oh? Switched weapons?"
Guilliman withdrew his fist, glanced at the shallow scorch mark left on his gauntlet by the Psychic Spear, and raised an eyebrow.
"This spear... is interesting. It absorbs the energy of whatever it touches?
An interesting psychic technique. When it comes to using psychic power, I'm not as good as you!"
