This was the backup plan Bai Ye had prepared for Little Nine of the future. Once he returned, he would make Little Nine understand who the real daddy was!
"Move out!"
With a sweep of his hand, Bai Ye led the Night Watchers and the Watchers toward the city district in a mighty procession.
"Remember your mission. Don't fight the robots. Draw away as many of them as you can."
"Yes, Mr. Bai!"
The group scattered, infiltrating the city district from different directions.
Bai Ye had never expected them to defeat the robots. They only needed to draw part of the robots' attention and ease his pressure.
"Why haven't you left yet?" He looked at Lu Chen, who seemed hesitant to speak.
Lu Chen scratched his head awkwardly. "Teacher, there's something I'd like to ask of you."
Bai Ye said impatiently, "What is it this time? Why are you always so wishy-washy?"
"It's about Ling Xia..."
"What happened to Ling Xia now?"
Lu Chen took a deep breath, his expression earnest and even carrying a hint of pleading. "This trip is dangerous. I might die, but I beg you to make sure Ling Xia survives."
"Fine, I got it." Bai Ye waved him off.
Lu Chen looked back every few steps. "So you've agreed?"
"I agreed. Now get lost!"
Overjoyed, Lu Chen grinned broadly. He gave a deep bow, then left.
Before long, apart from the elderly, weak, sick, and disabled personnel left behind, only Bai Ye, Doctor Yi, and Monkey remained in the enormous Watcher Base.
About to infiltrate the city center, Monkey was both nervous and excited, his body trembling nonstop.
"Scared?" Bai Ye glanced at him.
Monkey grinned. "I'm not scared. I'm excited. As long as we deal with Qilin, I'll be able to see my wife!"
