"Where the hell did this send me!?"
Bai Ye stared at the endless ruins around him and asked a question from the depths of his soul.
Countless shattered skyscrapers pierced the sky. Some had been sliced cleanly in half, leaning crookedly against other buildings;
others had only half their frameworks left, exposed rebar covered in green vines. Emerald leaves and cold concrete blended perfectly together, as if they had always been one.
The wind passed through the hollow buildings with a mournful howl.
Clearly, this was the ruin of a city.
But the ruins were not empty. On the contrary, there were quite a few people here.
A newly built, low-lying town had been embedded into the urban ruins in a strange yet harmonious fashion. Freshly built walls faced collapsed skyscrapers from afar, while cooking smoke coexisted with creeping vines.
People in strange outfits, carrying blades and weapons, came and went through the town. Most were burly and fierce-looking.
Along both sides of the cracked asphalt roads, many grimy people had set up stalls, selling junk scavenged from the city.
