"Squeak, squeak!"
An urgent squeak rang out from the sewer entrance. It wasn't loud, but Bai Ye heard it clearly.
He looked toward the sound and saw the sewer cover slammed aside. A little white mouse darted out, humanlike panic written across its face.
It leaped into the air, flinging the blue diamond-studded bow tie off its neck.
The next instant, white light burst from its body, and pristine wings unfurled within the glow.
"Coo, coo..."
The white dove beat its wings and flew toward Bai Ye like a streak of white lightning. Before leaving, its little claws even remembered to snatch up the falling blue diamond-studded bow tie.
The Pseudo-Humans noticed it but paid it no attention.
"Shushu? You're alive?" Bai Ye exclaimed, glancing sideways at the white dove that landed on his shoulder.
"Coo, coo... coo!" The dove's beak kept moving, its eyes blazing with fury as it spewed filthy curses.
Even then, it didn't forget to lift a claw and grab the blue diamond-studded bow tie custom-made by Starshine. It stretched its neck, put the bow tie on, and smoothed its slightly ruffled feathers.
Elegant! Utterly elegant!
Bai Ye said, "...I'm starting to think you're pretty hard to kill too."
Even after occupying the entire city, the Pseudo-Humans would have trouble catching a mouse in the sewers, especially when that mouse was God-Taboo Object 120 [Lord of Hundred Tribes].
"Squeak, squeak, squeak!" Shushu, now a little white mouse again, continued cursing, though its targets were the Pseudo-Humans.
Its little claws pointed accusingly at the Pseudo-Humans below, as though recounting the misery of being forced into the sewers.
"White Dragon, join us or die." Azure Dragon delivered his final ultimatum, and terrifying blood qi erupted from him.
Bai Ye's gaze darkened. *You want to compete with me in
