Dungbombs were magical stink bombs that released the smell of rot. They were invented in the 1880s.
They were one of the Weasley twins' favorite prank items.
They had once placed a Dungbomb beneath the chair of their great-aunt Muriel.
It had angered her so badly that she never visited their home again. She had even specifically stated in her will that neither of them would inherit anything from her.
Even so, the Weasley twins loved Dungbombs dearly.
Whenever they got the chance, they would even try to sell them.
"If I remember correctly, those are banned items, right?" Neville swallowed. "Headmaster Dumbledore emphasized..."
George and Fred both curled their lips disdainfully. "Dumbledore keeps emphasizing that Dungbombs are banned items only because Filch asked him to."
"Even if you're not planning a prank, you can buy one for self-defense." Fred opened his bag and displayed his little babies.
"If someone bullies you, just throw one at his head."
George immediately picked up where he left off. "If he happens not to know Scourgify, that'll be fun. The smell will cling to him and crawl right into his nostrils even while he sleeps."
"So, want one?"
"Buy one now, and we'll throw in a spell to detonate Dungbombs. Guaranteed to work!" As soon as George finished, Fred immediately matched his rhythm.
Then they both turned their heads and spoke in unison. "These are our little babies!"
Neville hurriedly shook his head.
He had not even learned Scourgify himself. He would not dare touch those things.
"How much for one?"
Silan asked the price with interest.
He was actually rather interested in the things.
During Potions, had not those two little rats around Nott been badmouthing him behind his back?
He was the kind of person who always took revenge for the slightest grievance. Even if he had not heard it, he would still get his revenge.
And he would charge a higher price for it.
Since they dared to have filthy mouths, he would give them something even filthier.
Adding a little extra when returning tooth for tooth could count as his exclusive bonus.
It just so happened that the two of them seemed to be roommates, making it convenient for him to act.
Fred and George exchanged a look and raised their eyebrows at each other. From their experience, a customer asking for the price was a good sign.
"Four silver Sickles. But there's a discount right now, so three silver Sickles each."
The price was actually a little higher than outside, but at Hogwarts, it was a fair price.
They were banned items, after all. They had to factor in the cost of hiding them after buying them, so it was not exactly a rip-off.
"I'll take two."
"Deal. Thank you for your patronage!"
After teaching Silan the spell to detonate Dungbombs, the Weasley twins took their leave.
As they walked away, Fred glanced back and asked softly, "Did we sell them too expensively?"
"Not at all. We charge everyone else the same price."
"But what if he really is Uncle's son? Then he'd be our cousin."
George was momentarily speechless. "We'll deal with that when the time comes."
The two immediately began discussing what prank items they should buy.
Or perhaps they should save the money?
They had always wanted to start a magical joke shop and had been saving up for it. That was also why they sold Dungbombs.
News that Snape had awarded Hermione points in Potions quickly spread.
Just like Nott apologizing to Neville before, the students did not care about the actual truth. They insisted on elevating the matter to the level of the entire House.
Students from Gryffindor and Slytherin were all discussing it heatedly.
The difference was that Gryffindor students were looking for Hermione, seeing her as a Champion who could win points for Gryffindor from Snape.
The Slytherin students, meanwhile, were furious about it.
"This is absurd. There's definitely something wrong!"
"It must have been Silan! He gave Professor Snape Amortentia! Otherwise, why would he award points to Gryffindor?"
"This is far too abnormal, isn't it?"
Noah Podmore and Oliver Baker cursed Silan viciously in the common room, treating him as a traitor who had helped the enemy.
These two were the ones who had given Silan and Hermione nicknames during Potions.
As they spoke, they kept staring at the entrance to the common room.
Whenever someone came in, they would abruptly fall silent. Only after seeing that it was not Silan would they start talking again.
After having a simple dinner in the Great Hall, Silan returned to the common room.
The two who had been chattering away so smugly instantly became like chickens with their throats seized. They could not make a sound, and even guiltily turned their heads away.
Heh. I was just looking for you two, Silan sneered inwardly.
Silan stepped over and asked them, "Do either of you know Scourgify?"
The two thought he had learned some new spell and come to show off in front of them. Their anger immediately flared.
Noah Podmore, from a pure-blood family, gave a cold snort and spoke in an exceptionally arrogant tone.
"My family has house-elves. I don't need to deal with such trivial matters myself."
Oliver, the half-blood, refused to be outdone. "My family has servants too."
The two seemed to have found some sense of superiority in this matter and mocked him smugly.
"So what if you know Scourgify? You still can't get rid of that poor stench on you."
Oliver waved a hand before his nose as he looked at Silan's old clothes. "Mr. Prewett, you should stay farther away from us. Your poverty stench is choking me."
Silan nodded.
After listening to so much nonsense, Silan had figured out that neither of them knew Scourgify.
That made things easy.
"Gentlemen." Silan smiled at them. "Have sweet dreams tonight."
When they heard Silan say that, after a brief moment of confusion, they both assumed he was afraid of them. They immediately began indulging in smug fantasies.
"He's not as impressive as the rumors say."
"Exactly! Next time, we'll make him pay!"
"That's right, we'll make him kneel and beg us!"
Just as the two were getting more and more worked up, the common room door suddenly opened.
Malfoy swaggered in with his two lackeys.
Noah and Oliver reflexively shut their mouths. It took them quite a while to realize that Silan had already left.
He was gone, so what was there to be afraid of?
The two began consoling themselves again, chatting away on their own.
After returning to his dormitory, Silan did not rush to sleep. Instead, he continued flipping through The Standard Book of Spells: Grade 3.
After all, he still had plans for later.
[Spell Inspiration: Proficiency +1]
After reading for quite a while, Silan estimated that the time was about right.
He got up, left the dormitory, and walked all the way to Noah and Oliver's dorm room.
Silan first tried pushing the door. Sure enough, it was locked.
The two were quite cautious.
Unfortunately for them, Silan had already learned the Unlocking Charm.
"Alohomora."
The door opened.
Looking at the two sleeping soundly, Silan revealed a cruel smile in the darkness.
Dungbombs could not be touched by hand, or they would make his hands dirty.
So Silan used his wand to levitate them.
Show yourselves, my little babies!
