In an empty classroom underground, Snape was dueling Oren.
"What's wrong, my dear old professor? Can't duel without potions?"
A transparent membrane covered Oren's body, sealing out the slightly greenish air.
A huge cloud of black mist burst from the tip of Snape's wand. Oren had no idea what it was, but he knew better than to get hit by it.
"Getting anxious? Is that all? Professor Snape, I didn't expect you to turn to Dark magic so quickly."
Snape was sweating a little by now. Ordinary little spells were already having a hard time dealing with the little troll in front of him.
"Take it as recognition of your strength. Of course, you can use it too. After all, some people even have black in their surname," Snape stubbornly retorted.
"Then you'd better be careful." Oren released a ring of Fiendfyre around Snape, trapping him inside. "Try not to set your hair on fire. That greasy mop of yours could burn for three days and three nights."
"Trying to trap me? I really should be surprised that a little troll like you actually has a brain."
Snape used some unknown spell to fly into the air, soaring over the little ring of flames toward Oren.
Oren raised a hand and flung out a huge net, catching Snape in it.
"Surprised? Didn't expect that? Professor, you were the one who turned a traditional duel into a prop match first."
Oren took out a strange Dungbomb and tossed it into a corner of the room, then calmly walked out.
The underground classroom trembled slightly. Then thick yellow smoke poured through the crack beneath the door of an empty classroom.
Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
Oren said, "So you interrupted my champagne celebration for this?"
Hermione rolled her eyes at him. "This is the first Defense Against the Dark Arts class of the term!"
For once, Oren did not sit with Hermione and compete with her academically. Instead, he picked the back row by the window, the homeland of all window-seat kings.
Harry and Ron did not know why, but figured there was no harm in following him.
"All right, children. Since you've all bought my complete collection, before class begins, I'd like to give you a little test," Lockhart called out.
Harry read, "What is Lockhart's favorite color?"
Ron read, "What is Lockhart's secret ambition?"
Oren read, "What is Lockhart's greatest achievement to date?"
The three exchanged glances, each seeing the same confusion in the others' eyes.
Oren was the first to toss his test aside. "What the hell is this? Why doesn't he just ask me to guess what color underwear he's wearing today?"
Harry and Ron nodded, deeply agreeing with Oren.
"Goodness, hardly anyone remembers me..." Oren did not listen to a single word of the nonsense Lockhart was spouting.
"Miss Hermione Granger knows it all! Ten points to Gryffindor!" Lockhart displayed her paper to the class. "One hundred percent! Where is Miss Granger?"
Oren said, "Look at Hermione's excited heart and trembling hands. Guys, don't leave after class. Steal that paper for me."
Harry asked, "Why?"
"You don't understand. In a few years, maybe even a few months, this will be evidence of certain people's social death," Oren explained seriously.
Harry...
Ron...
"Today, we will be learning how to defend yourselves against one of the most wicked creatures. But don't be afraid. I will protect you."
Lockhart opened the cage. "Don't scream. You'll provoke them."
When the Cornish Pixies flew out of the cage, quite a few young wizards could not hold back their laughter.
"Don't underestimate them," Lockhart said irritably. "They're a pack of cunning little devils."
After several spells failed to deal with the creatures, Lockhart said, "They're only pixies. Get them all back into the cage. That's today's class assignment." Then, without caring that his wand had been snatched away, he hurried off.
The pixies darted wildly around the classroom like rockets. Oren's area was safe, though. After several pixies had been punched into little pixie puddles by Oren, none of them dared fly in that direction.
When the bell rang, Hermione was the one who finally froze the creatures with a Freezing Charm.
After everyone had left the classroom, Oren rushed to the front. "Ron, keep watch. Harry, throw the other papers on the floor and fake the scene. I'll find Hermione's paper!"
The two of them...
"Why did you take so long?" Hermione asked suspiciously as she looked at the three of them.
Oren said, "Hahaha, it's nothing. Ron was looking for something he lost. He found it already."
Ron said, "What an awful class. That useless idiot Lockhart is disgusting."
Hermione said indignantly, "He must have been testing us! You saw the books he wrote, didn't you?"
"Tch." Ron said disdainfully, "For all we know, he made them all up."
Hermione said, "You!"
Harry said, "Um, I have practice today, so I'm leaving first."
"Go on, go on. Want to celebrate my—" Oren had just taken out his champagne, ready to make up for the celebration of beating Snape, when Hermione and Ron dragged him in a daze to the Quidditch pitch to watch Harry and the team practice.
Hermione said, "Quiet. Watch the practice."
Oren said, "Fine, fine, but can that idiot beside us put down his camera? That flash has gone off so many times already. Is he planning to publish a Harry Quidditch photo album?"
"That's Colin," Ron said helplessly. "He's a rabid Harry fan. I hope he doesn't know Ginny, or they'll end up forming a Harry fan club."
Hermione asked, "Oren, you said you wanted to celebrate? Celebrate what?"
"Hehehe, I successfully tricked Snape with a super Dungbomb. You'll see during Potions. That old bat must be thoroughly pickled by now."
The two little ones...
"Look, the Gryffindor team seems like they're about to fight the newly arrived Slytherin team!" Ron cried.
The Gryffindor team was confronting the Slytherin team, each of whom was carrying a Nimbus 2001.
The two little ones and Colin rushed onto the pitch. Oren followed at an unhurried pace. He was practically hoping they would fight; it had been ages since he had watched a spectacle.
Draco pointed at Hermione and snarled, "No one was talking to you, you Mudblood!"
"How dare you!" Ron angrily drew his wand and pointed it at Draco.
"Hey, don't be so hot-headed." Oren pressed down Ron's wand hand. "Let me talk to him."
As Oren slowly approached, Draco's face grew paler and paler. He had no idea where this troll had come from. If he had known Oren was here, he would have held back.
Oren hooked an arm around Draco's neck. "Since things have come to this, you should just end yourself." He held out a capsule to Draco.
Draco's pupils shook. He felt that this was probably the thing that would turn his face into Malfoy Miss.
With that thought, Draco began struggling, but it was completely useless.
"See? You're getting anxious again." Oren earnestly advised him, "My punishment is much gentler than Ron blasting you with a spell."
Draco struggled even harder. Making him become Malfoy Miss in front of so many people would be worse than killing him outright.
Oren said, "Come on, swallow it."
Draco said, "No!"
"Be good. Listen and swallow it already!"
"Oren, don't!"
Draco's little bit of strength was naturally useless. Before everyone's eyes, he became Malfoy Miss.
Oren clasped his hands behind his back, looked up at the sky, and sighed. "I still killed him after all."
Ron looked at Malfoy Miss fleeing in panic and sighed. "I was going to use a spell on him, but Oren is much crueler."
Hermione spoke the cruelest words in the calmest tone. "Malfoy is already dead in the social sense."
Harry shuddered. "I just imagined myself in his place for a second, and I nearly carved out an entire Hogwarts with my toes."
As he spoke, he rubbed the sole of his shoe against the ground, trying to hide the little pit that had not existed a moment ago.
Both the Slytherin and Gryffindor teams were stunned. They all fled in panic, afraid they would be the next victim.
"Why don't we go find Hagrid?" Harry suggested.
"Sure." ×2
After shaking off Colin, the three dragged Oren to Hagrid's Hut.
At that moment, Lockhart was chattering away at Hagrid about something.
"Quick, hide." The four ducked into the bushes.
"If you need any help, just come find me," Lockhart said loudly. "I never would have thought you didn't own a single one of my books. I'll bring you one tonight, the signed kind."
Ron asked, "Has he gone far enough?"
Hermione said, "It's fine now. Let's go see Hagrid."
Hagrid opened the door with an angry expression, but when he saw the four of them, his face immediately turned into a broad smile.
"Fancy that, I was just talking about you lot and then you showed up. I thought it was that Lockhart bloke again just now."
They entered the hut, and Harry asked, "What did he come here for?"
Hagrid said angrily, "He came to teach me how to stop water demons from getting into my well."
Oren said disdainfully, "Oh, give me a break. I just hope that idiot Lockhart knows which way the well opening faces."
The little witch was furious at these people insulting her idol.
"Since Headmaster Dumbledore hired him, he must be suited for the position."
"He was the only choice," Hagrid said while plucking a chicken. "Everyone thinks Defense Against the Dark Arts is unlucky. Hardly anyone wants the job."
Ron said, "Even so, Headmaster Dumbledore shouldn't have settled for Lockhart."
"You're right, Ron." Oren scratched Fang behind the ears. "I think even tying up a dog would be better than him. At least Professor Fang wouldn't make people hate him."
The little witch was already boiling with rage. Just before she could burst into steam, Hagrid asked, "What happened earlier? Why did you all seem so angry when you came?"
Ron said angrily, "That Malfoy bloke called Hermione a Mudblood, but Oren taught him a harsh lesson."
"People like them think their so-called pure-bloods are nobler than Muggle-born wizards."
Ron patted Hermione, who was sneaking glances at Oren. "That stuff doesn't matter at all. Neville's a pure-blood too, but he can't even manage a cauldron."
Oren looked at the dead chicken in Hagrid's hand, then at the three or four dead chickens in the bucket. "Hagrid, what's going on? Why are there so many dead chickens? And why are they all roosters?"
Hagrid shrugged. "I don't know what's hurting the little things. It'd be a waste not to eat them, so that's what I'll have to do."
Oren raised an eyebrow, sensing that something was off. "Do you remember that house-elf Harry ran into?"
Ron's face turned a little pale. "Could what he said have been true?"
Oren nodded and pointed at the dead chickens. "Maybe. It's already started acting."
"Look, all these chickens had their necks snapped. It was definitely done by someone," Hermione said, picking up and examining a dead chicken.
Harry asked, "Then what should we do?"
"Hehe, doesn't he like killing chickens?" Oren waved both hands, turning the entire table into solid gold. "Then let him kill them. His strength will be constantly drained, while the roosters we buy will be endless."
Little roosters: You're amazing! You're so noble!
"I want to see whether endless chicken bones are tougher, or his wrists are."
Hagrid said, "Um... Oren, do you think it could be a prank?"
Oren rolled his eyes at Hagrid. "Even if it is, that's way too far for a prank."
The three little ones began thinking deeply, and the hut fell silent for a while.
"Er... how about I show you my vegetable patch?" Hagrid suggested tentatively.
The three little ones threw the half-formed thoughts out of their minds and decided to go see Hagrid's vegetable patch.
"Wow, those oranges are as big as bowling balls!" Ron exclaimed. "And these pumpkins are half a person tall!"
Hermione asked, "Hagrid, how did you do this?"
"Hehe, I gave them a little help. An Engorgement Charm," Hagrid said sheepishly.
Oren stared at Hagrid in shock. "So that's why your crops grow so big! It's the ultimate combination of magic and shady tricks!"
Hagrid...
Like a cheater caught red-handed, Hagrid guiltily shrank his neck.
Hermione said, "But isn't it pretty interesting?"
"Ron's little sister Ginny said the same thing," Hagrid said with a chuckle. "I think she only comes here because she wants to run into someone. She definitely wouldn't refuse that person's signed photo."
"Oh, come on! Hagrid, don't talk nonsense!" Harry was so anxious he nearly jumped.
"Pfft." ×4
Hagrid pulled Ron's little hand away from the pumpkin and muttered on about his precious pumpkins.
Oren said, "Ron, put away those filthy little hands. These pumpkins are Hagrid's beloved treasures."
The three little ones...
After saying goodbye to Hagrid, they had barely reached the castle entrance when Snape, who had been waiting for a long time, blocked their path.
Snape's terrifying presence sent the nearby young wizards scattering in all directions, afraid the old bat might suddenly attack and spray them with blood.
The three little ones knew Snape had come for Oren. Although they were trembling with fear, they still did not leave.
Snape said, "Leave this place."
The three little ones reluctantly walked away.
"Mr. Black, you should know that your actions caused Miss... Mister Malfoy great harm."
"Hehe, I know exactly what you, greasy-haired old thief, came here for."
"Don't stand so close. That cheap perfume stench on you is choking. And you just want to feed that thing to Harry, don't you? I'm almost embarrassed to expose you. You're shameless."
Snape...
"I'll pay ten Sickles for one."
"Hehe, one Galleon each." Oren immediately raised the price.
Before Snape could bargain, Oren said, "I tested it on Harry before. Her hair turns red."
Oren took out a small bottle of capsules and waved it in front of Snape.
Snape immediately handed his wallet to Oren, then searched through all his pockets and gave him every coin he had. He snatched the bottle and hurried away.
"Tch, did I just screw Harry over?" Oren shook his head. Whatever. When you're out in the world, you survive by betraying your friends, breaking your word, and selling out your brothers...
Oren quickly shook his head, throwing the strange thoughts out of it.
