Background

Soul Land II is a later Douluo Continent era in which the legends of Sea God Tang San, Shrek Academy, and the Tang Sect have become widely accepted history. Its inhabitants initially regard Tang San as a righteous hero and Spirit Hall as an evil organization, though Qin Moyu’s diary repeatedly challenges that historical account 19 51.

The era’s designated protagonist is Huo Yuhao, who begins with an unusually weak ten-year Spirit Ring and a difficult childhood. Tang Ya and Bei Bei escort him toward Shrek City, while Tang Ya struggles to reconcile his circumstances with his supposed destiny 7. Huo Yuhao later gains the Ice Empress through Sky Dream Ice Silkworm’s intervention, expanding his original Spirit Eyes martial soul beyond its initial limits 77.

Society and technology

Soul Land II is marked by the rapid growth of Soul Tool technology. Soul cannons, firearms, long-range targeting, and area bombardment reduce the danger humans face when hunting soul beasts while making such hunting substantially more efficient 113.

The Sun Moon Empire possesses leading Soul Tool technology. Its Soul Engineers can use Soul Tool cannons to produce destructive force beyond their cultivation, though their unstable pill-assisted foundations and lack of high-level experts prevent the empire from decisively conquering the traditional Douluo Continent powers 38.

According to Qin Moyu’s account, Shrek’s apparent glory masks an unequal outcome for the generation known as the Shrek Seven Monsters: Huo Yuhao alone ultimately becomes a god, while the others receive far less recognition or advancement 39.

Tang Sect

The Tang Sect still exists during this era, with Tang Ya serving as its leader while Bei Bei accompanies her and Huo Yuhao toward Shrek City 7. Its later decline is attributed in the diary to Tang San’s failure to preserve or openly transmit the sect’s true secret arts and hidden-weapon techniques 7.

The sect also perpetuates a Blue Silver Grass-oriented cultivation tradition modeled after Tang San, despite Qin Moyu’s claim that Tang San’s true martial soul was the Blue Silver Emperor rather than ordinary Blue Silver Grass 6.

Sun Moon Empire

Bi Ji concludes that continued passivity will lead to the soul beast race’s extinction. Her response is to call for the Silver Dragon King’s awakening and the unification of soul beasts under a collective survival strategy 113.

Support-Type Soul Masters
