The people of the Sun Moon Empire crept toward Shrek Academy under cover of night. Several heavy Soul Tool vehicles stopped in a concealed spot within the mountains, their rooftop launch platforms slowly rising. Rows of sights finished calibrating, all aimed at that academy with ten thousand years of history.
"Everything adjusted?" the leading Sun Moon officer asked in a low voice.
"Reporting, target locked. Coordinates are accurate," the operator replied crisply.
"Good." The officer smiled as he gazed at Shrek Academy's hazy silhouette in the distance, his eyes cold. "Doesn't Shrek love fireworks most? Tonight, we'll give them a grand show. Fire!"
From the depths of the night, several dazzling streams of light shot skyward. Like meteors, like fireworks, they trailed brilliant flames as they hurtled straight toward Shrek Academy.
Above Shrek Academy, Xian Lin'er and Qian Duoduo shot into the air almost simultaneously.
Their Martial Soul Avatars erupted as they tried to intercept the descending streams of light in midair. Yet the Soul Cannons' power far exceeded their expectations. The moment they rose into the sky, the first wave of shockwaves struck them head-on.
Qian Duoduo let out a muffled groan. His protective Soul Power cracked apart, and he plummeted like a meteor, smashing through a teaching building.
Xian Lin'er was not struck directly and barely held on, but both her arms were blasted into a bloody mess. The shockwave hurled her away viciously, and she no longer had the strength to stand.
Beneath the Golden Ancient Tree, Mu En struggled to raise a hand.
He attempted to unleash Sea God's Light, intending to protect the academy with its final barrier. Golden light poured from the Golden Ancient Tree behind him, thin as mist, barely forming an exceedingly faint curtain of light over the academy.
