Gwen’s mother died soon after her birth, leaving her father, George Stacy, to raise her alone. George gave her a warm childhood and remained Gwen’s central family figure. 106

She initially used them in secret to assist her father at crime scenes, subduing violent criminals before eventually becoming an independent vigilante.
