As the Mekboyz bustled about, the Great Mek Euclid opened the valves of his mechanical backpack and released a cloud of smoke.
The smoke was like a purple cloud, purifying the pollutants in the air that might otherwise turn the engine room into a terrifying inferno.
When it came to modifying themselves, few Orks could compare to the Great Meks, and Euclid was no exception. He viewed himself as an instrument as well.
After most of his face had been removed, his olfactory organs had been replaced by more complex sensors. Yet his sensory system remained locked in old memories, rendering the smell as furnace exhaust and heated metal.
Raising one of his four tightly clenched, multi-jointed limbs, Euclid let a little lubricating oil drip from the narrow-necked bottle in his hand. The flexible optical lenses in his red-glowing bionic eyes, equipped with microscopic vision, tracked the oil's path until it passed over the platform where the Mekboyz stood together.
His gaze followed the droplets several meters down until they landed atop the Mork Gargant.
From this elevated position, the Mork Gargant, already painted silver-white, extended down to the ground below. This place had once been Tyre's central square, but it had now become a bustling workshop.
Rows upon rows of Guards stood arrayed around the Gargant's feet, awaiting orders to board.
When Guk announced that the Mork Gargant would become his new vehicle, the Guards had taken over everything here. Painting the Gargant white had also been Guk's demand.
Because atop the Mork Gargant, he would announce something of immense importance.
And this colossal machine itself would become his avatar.
