A lost city lay hidden here.
The arched roof of a vast, ruined hall resembled a shattered skull. Splendid wreckage lay scattered for miles, submerged in a boiling sea of fog that merged with the distant gray horizon.
A stretch of hills was smothered by suffocating vegetation, dotted with massive, fragmented statues that someone had once taken pride in.
They silently stared at something, slowly being swallowed by darkness, like corpses half-buried in the earth.
Ur looked around and saw the remnants of civilization struggling in a slow, hopeless battle against nature.
Among those ruins, he saw traces of Shrimp, yet they were utterly unlike anything Arkham had left behind. Everything here seemed madder, more twisted.
"Boss, I reckon this place is weird. Maybe we oughta pull out first."
Hagrid grabbed Ur by the arm and pulled him down.
Ur had climbed up for a better look at the ruined city, and he protested. He had been so close. It might have been the remains of some monumental defensive wall that had once surrounded this place long ago.
"Lemme take another look. Maybe there's an opportunity here. Y'know, I've always wanted a Stormboyz pack..."
Ur turned to look at the broken rock wall stretching between the reeking mound of corpses and the exit. He realized it was the remains of a stone bridge, part of which had collapsed into a mist-shrouded ravine.
From what Ur could see through the haze, the structure seemed relatively intact.
He suddenly wanted badly to see what else was inside, but he also felt something boiling in the air, like the feeling before rain.
Was it merely a trick of the wind? Or the weather, perhaps the air pressure?
So he sent two boyz to inspect it and waited where he was for several minutes.
