Blood Expanse (III)

As the mech tried to pinpoint the newly appeared sound source, Gogu rushed forward, grabbed the handle beneath the front of his bike, and fired a rocket straight at the roaming mech.

It was a thermobaric warhead.

The rocket struck the shield and burst apart, but did not immediately detonate. Instead, it evenly dispersed the fuel inside its casing into the air, where it thoroughly mixed with the atmosphere into a suspended aerosol. It gathered above the target in a blanket resembling dense fog.

Then came an earth-shaking roar.

BOOM~!

A fireball of searing heat erupted at the roaming mech's head height. It immediately reacted on instinct, opening fire with its multi-barreled cannon at the spot where Gogu had been microseconds earlier.

The roaming mech failed to vaporize Gogu, leaving only a crater in the ground.

The blast pierced the shield and disrupted most of the sensors on the roaming mech's head.

Effectively deaf and blind, it flew into a rage, flailing its arms, spraying bullets, and charging about without direction.

It was trying to run.

"Trying to leg it?"

Gogu ducked beneath a burst of gunfire, but a soldier holding a semi-automatic rifle and aiming at him was not nearly as quick. Before he could fire, the war machine's blind barrage disemboweled him.

The roaming mech was right in front of him. Gogu clamped the motorcycle between his knees, bent down, and pulled a rocket launcher from behind the seat. Then, before more enemies could fire at him, he sped away with murder in his heart.

Snotlings had fitted him with armor-piercing rockets. Gogu began to aim, but before he could finish, a soldier in a blue cloak leaped in front of him, the sword in his hand glowing with a blue aura.
