Background / History
Chen Changhe obtained the Heart of the Orks through Life Sacrifice and installed it in his Divine Domain Core. The relic could transform reproducing fungal followers into Orks, but its first result was a horde of low-ranking Snotling Orks rather than true Orks 2 3.
The Snotlings rapidly established the defining Ork reproductive cycle: dead bodies and fragments were buried, Ork Mushrooms grew from them, and new eggs formed beneath the mushrooms. Newly hatched Orks emerged ready to fight, allowing their numbers to grow at extraordinary speed 3 101.
As Chen Changhe developed the race, Gretchin Orks, Squigs, Hero Units, specialized classes, and eventually true Orks emerged. After he became a demigod and obtained Ork Divinity, nearly a billion followers became transcendent lifeforms; evolved true Orks were selected as the principal combat race, while Gretchins were directed toward spellcasting and production and Snotlings toward mushroom cultivation and food production 46 94.
The promotion of the Waaagh Codex established a formal religion centered on Chen Changhe as the Orks' creator and ancestral god. Their worship produced his true name, Ork. Everland. Oaken. Chen, and supported colonization of hundreds of meteor worlds 79.
By the time Chen Changhe took control of the East China Pantheon, he required its subordinate gods to cultivate Ork followers as secondary faith deities of Waaagh!. The pantheon was subsequently renamed the Ork Pantheon, while the Orks' population expanded to tens of trillions 170 176.
Appearance
Orks are green-skinned, physically powerful humanoids whose skin can photosynthesize. Their appearance varies sharply by subspecies and evolutionary stage 2 3 100.
- Snotling Orks — Less than half a meter tall; perpetually runny-nosed and regarded as the lowest social stratum 3.
- Gretchin Orks — Larger and more robust than Snotlings; Dragon Spellcasters are typically around 1.8 meters tall 68 109.
- True Orks / High-Level Orks — Towering, muscular greenskins resembling “Hulks”; standard elite troops exceed three meters, while the largest reach five meters 94 100.
- Cyber Orks — Orks may replace body parts with mechanical enhancements. Stone Severed Claw has a mechanical right arm ending in a steel claw 28.
Traits and Abilities
Spore Reproduction
Orks reproduce asexually through spores shed from their hair, skin, and bodies. Under suitable conditions, spores grow into Ork Mushrooms, which produce eggs containing new Orks 2 3.
- Newborn Orks emerge with complete combat ability and intelligence rather than requiring a normal growth period 101.
- Corpses and body fragments can be used to cultivate Ork Mushrooms, making battlefield casualties a reproductive resource 3.
- Nutrient solution can accelerate mushroom growth from spores to maturity within hours 101.
- Chen Changhe can seal spore reproduction in Orks outside his control, limiting unauthorized expansion 80.
- Illegally bred Orks can be altered to go mad on emergence, destroy everything nearby, and suffer genetic collapse after a limited lifespan 172.
Waaagh Power and Ork Believe-It Power
Orks collectively generate a subjective-belief force known as Ork Believe-It Power or Waaagh Power. It distorts probability toward outcomes broadly believed by Orks 2.
- Different Orks manifest Waaagh Power differently according to their desires and beliefs 40.
- At earlier stages, Orks can use it only for limited supernatural effects rather than its more extreme probability-altering applications 40.
- Fanatic Orks can burn soul power to strengthen Waaagh Power in battle 104.
- Waaagh Power is essential to Ork technology; without it, other races cannot reproduce the full performance of Ork weapons and vehicles 252.
Regeneration and Adaptability
Orks possess exceptional recovery, hardiness, and environmental adaptability.
- Their green skin is tough enough for photosynthesis, while their mixed plant-and-animal nature supports extreme survivability 2.
- They can recover from severe wounds; even a lost arm can regenerate 105.
- True Orks possess especially potent life essence, immense impact force, and regeneration that makes them difficult to kill 94.
- Orks can survive and multiply on meteorite worlds, where ordinary followers struggle to live 79 96.
- In the Northlands, Orks consume corrupted creatures, absorb corrupt divine power, and disperse Corruption Mists 191.
Combat Classes and Cavalry
Chen Changhe equips and class-changes Orks into specialized military units.
- Heavy Knights — Snotling Heavy Knights gain Powerful Charge, Heavy Strike, Steel Body, Heavy Cavalry Bloodline, and Inertial Impact 50.
- Heraldic Heavy Knights — Elite Gretchin and true Orks serve as heavily armored shock troops, often mounted on Squigs 68 100.
- Dragon Spellcasters — Gretchin Orks can serve as magical combatants; Broken Tooth is a notable example 94 105.
- Ork Cavalry — Snotlings armed with Goblin Horn Guns, armor, and swords ride Squigs into battle. A force of one thousand can break a formation of over ten thousand Orks 46.
- Justice of the Orks — When Chen Changhe declares a target an enemy, the divinity doubles Ork damage and halves damage received against Light Dwarves 110.
Ork Technology
Ork technology combines improvised physical construction with Waaagh Power, allowing crude materials to produce devastating weapons and vehicles 252.
- Pump Wagons — Scrap-built four-wheeled vehicles that become extremely fast, durable, and destructive when empowered by Waaagh Power 14 252.
- Goblin Horn Guns — Firearms developed by Long Nose and employed by Ork Cavalry 14 46.
- Blessing Armor — Combat armor created by Chen Changhe using human power armor as a reference 95.
- Zzap Guns — Powerful defensive weapons created by Long Nose using Divine Power Points 95.
- Mechanical Arms — Ork technological equipment that can rapidly grant ordinary soldiers formidable strength 260.
- Mechanical Dragon — A construct made through Ork technology and Blessing Armor techniques; Chen Changhe uses it as an avatar 252.
Society and Culture
Ork society is violent, competitive, and strongly centered on warfare, survival, and devotion to Waaagh!.
- Orks are described as barbaric, bloody, fearless, bloodthirsty, and warlike 3 101.
- They routinely fight among themselves, including immediately after defeating outside enemies 19.
- Snotlings occupy the bottom of the social order and may be eaten by other Orks or used as Squig feed 94 95.
- On Miracle Day / Sacrifice Day, Orks traditionally wage divine wars before Chen Changhe's Life Sacrifice, hoping to become stronger, attain fanatic faith, and enter the Divine Kingdom as Petitioners after death 41.
- Orks consider Chen Changhe's will to be justice; in their belief system, justice means bloodlust, slaughter, Waaagh!, and obedience to the Ork God 110.
- The Waaagh Codex promises that fanatics may enter the Divine Domain's “Heavenly Realm,” motivating lower-tier Orks to increase their faith 87.
Population Structure

| Squigs | Mounts and war beasts | Large, red-skinned, low-intelligence beasts with powerful tails, crushing jaws, and great jumping ability 46. |
| Mutant Orks | Specialized variants | Other deities' relics and abilities can produce new Ork mutations, which Chen Changhe can sense and replicate through Ork Creator Divinity 87. |
| Orkified Goblins | Prospective true-Ork branch | Fully Orkified Goblins become true Orks while retaining an exclusively male reproductive trait 221. |
