The war on the Devourer Plane continued. The fighting on the other continents had not gone as smoothly as it had on the Brunn Continent.
The reason was that Malagon, the Sage of the Brunn Continent, had not intervened. He had merely reached an agreement with the Allied Legion: as long as the legion did not carry out large-scale massacres, he would stay out of the war.
The other continents were different. Sage-level Awakened had already entered the fighting, and there was more than one of them.
This had caused considerable trouble for the Allied Legion forces on those continents, making it much harder for them to advance.
The other continents remained mired in war. Once the main force on the Brunn Continent had stabilized the situation, it would immediately head over to provide support.
Pockets of resistance still remained on the Brunn Continent. Eliminating the remaining forces and establishing effective rule was a long, tedious process, but large-scale warfare between organized armies had essentially ended.
The Seventh Squadron, to which Duke belonged, was also about to rotate out for rest and return to the Wizard Plane.
In fact, if they wished, they could choose not to take part in the war here anymore.
Quite a few young wizards had left midway through the campaign. They could not adapt to the conditions here, and the war had dragged on so long that its duration alone was a trial for them.
Those who could no longer endure it would apply to leave early.
The Allied Legion generally approved these young wizards' requests outright, because the war would be much the
same with or without them. They would simply receive a lower assessment.
