Kakashi opened his mouth, wanting badly to argue with Natsuki.
But Natsuki's status was higher now, and he would not tolerate any rebuttal from Kakashi.
He fell silent, then suddenly said,
"I have a premonition. Obito will come looking for me."
Natsuki sized Kakashi up. "Your premonitions are pretty accurate. Don't have one next time."
Kakashi suddenly looked up.
"Lord Natsuki, you think Obito will come looking for me too?"
Natsuki spread his hands. "Honestly, I don't know. But Obito is someone who places great importance on the past."
"No matter how despicable and shameless he became, he never forgot those old memories."
"Whether they were memories of you or because of Rin."
"It would be perfectly normal for him to come looking for you."
"So, I want to ask... did Rin used to like you, or did she like Obito?"
The turn in Natsuki's words nearly sent Kakashi straight to the afterlife.
Without his mask, Kakashi put on an instant face-changing performance.
Watching Kakashi's expression shift repeatedly, Natsuki let out a long exclamation.
"Oh..."
Now he understood. Rin liked Kakashi, Kakashi liked Obito, and Obito liked Rin—a perfect loop!
He merely said,
"So Rin liked you. No wonder Obito suffered so much when he saw Rin die by your hand."
Kakashi let out a breath. He could now take the fact that Rin had willingly died by his hand head-on.
"What are you trying to say, Lord Natsuki?"
Natsuki curled his lip. "If you like Rin, then once this battle is over, wait two years or so and you should be able to revive her."
This was the first time he had openly acknowledged his power of resurrection before Kakashi.
Kakashi felt more joy than shock. After all, he had suspected that his teacher's resurrection was connected to Natsuki.
