Distress signals flew across the skies of the Alchemical World, landing in the hands of alchemists in every city before finally reaching the main city.
The first batch of signals was sent shortly after the first major city fell. The second arrived half a day later, while only a few hours separated the third batch from the second.
Their contents were roughly the same: large numbers of foreign forces were advancing rapidly, the cities could not stand firm, and reinforcements were urgently requested!
By the end, the signals had grown increasingly urgent.
Yet even if the other cities wanted to send aid, they were powerless to do so.
The four undead armies had now scattered, with enemies everywhere. Even if they dispatched troops, those forces would be slaughtered before they reached their destination.
The distress signals detailed the composition of those forces, their directions of invasion, and their points of breakthrough.
Upon learning that the enemy consisted of vast numbers of undead, countless walking iron constructs, as well as humans and orcs, the alchemists were puzzled.
Where had these enemies come from?
Could they be the "extraterritorial demons" provoked during the world's ascension?
Or were they the surviving natives from the "Worldstones" Aldric had sacrificed, now sweeping across the world in revenge?
Only those "Grand Alchemists" truly capable of wielding the world's laws and stirring the world's will knew the truth.
They had received a warning from the world's will the moment Lynn and the Chaos Dragon broke through the world barrier and entered. Otherwise, they would not have sent people to investigate.
In the end... one mid-rank Grand Alchemist and three low-rank Grand Alchemists had vanished without a trace, sending back not a single scrap of information.
They had most likely met with disaster.
This weighed heavily on their
