When Lynn stepped into the Apprentice Progression Hall again, he verified his identity and made his way into the testing array with practiced ease.

"Spirit power: 20. Meets the standard! Cast any Apprentice-Level Sorcery." It was still the same steward from last time, his voice as cold as ever.

Lynn moved his lips swiftly, and two seconds later, he successfully condensed solid bone shields that floated and revolved around his body.

"Passed. Promoted to Second-Class Apprentice. Go replace your Nameplate."

The steward gave Lynn another look, seemingly a little surprised by how quickly he had advanced.

At Window Three, Lynn returned his Black Ironwood Nameplate and received a new one with the luster of Dark Silver. It felt somewhat cool in his hand, and its texture was far superior to the original Black Ironwood.

The thorn patterns on the Nameplate were more intricate. Holding it in his hand, he could feel that its constant calming effect was much stronger.

The Dark-Silver Plaque could activate a weak Lesser Negative Energy Shield cantrip once per day, enough to save his life at a critical moment.

When he killed Holm earlier, the Negative Energy Shield Holm had instant-cast at the very end had been activated through a Dark-Silver Plaque.

With a Second-Class Apprentice Nameplate, he could borrow knowledge on "restrictions" from the first floor of the library.

But Lynn had no intention of wasting Contribution Points.

That paid knowledge was not cheap. He would rather complete the Analysis of restrictions later and get it for free.

There was still plenty of time, so Lynn headed straight to the Task Hall to earn resources.

The hall remained noisy. Some apprentices were attacking and cursing one another
