Over the following days, more and more news spread, leaving the entire academy anxious and unsettled.
Several hostile academies joined forces to exert pressure, accusing Bone Spire of "illegally" stealing students and undermining the foundations of every academy. They demanded that Bone Spire compensate the various academies with enormous sums, or else face war.
After all, there were only so many talented apprentices. If Bone Spire had merely recruited those low-aptitude students unwanted by other academies, it would have been one thing.
But Bone Spire's greed was simply too ugly. It had swept up the good and the bad alike and taken them all home.

White Wizards raised in greenhouses spent their days buried in study and research, and were not particularly skilled in combat.
Black Wizards, however, had fought constantly from the moment they enrolled. The weak had long since been eliminated.
How could an academy founded on the principle that "death is the best teacher" possibly fear war?
The atmosphere within the academy grew increasingly grim. The Task Hall now featured more missions related to war preparations, reconnaissance, and the production of wartime
