That day, Lynn was studying a copy of the Encyclopedia of Basic Wizard Artifacts in his study, searching for a Wizard Artifact that could conceal the abnormalities in Lin Chen's body.
Though Lynn was a One-Ring wizard and could be considered an Overlord-class figure in Graystone City, he still did not dare underestimate the heroes of the world.
Lin Chen's anomaly could easily invite unnecessary trouble, perhaps even bring catastrophic ruin upon the family.
Footsteps sounded outside the door.
Alia pushed the door open, carrying a red cloth swaddling bundle in her arms.
"Ah-En, why are you still here?" Alia shot him a reproachful look.
"Chen just woke up. The first thing he did was look for you."
Lynn paused, looking at the little face in the swaddling clothes.
The baby had his star-like eyes open, his tiny mouth opening and closing as he babbled.
"Give him to me." Lynn held out his hands and took the child.
The moment the baby entered his arms, he let out a babble, slipped a little hand out through the folds of cloth, and grabbed Lynn's collar.
Lynn looked down at him, and his heart immediately softened.
"This little brat is pretty strong," Lynn said.
"Just like you." Alia leaned closer and tucked in the corner of the swaddling cloth. "Before he was even born, he was already causing a fuss inside me."
Lynn said nothing and gently rocked his arm.
Lin Chen let out another little cry in his arms, rubbed his face against Lynn's chest, and gradually quieted down.
"See? He loves clinging to you. Looking for you always works," Alia said with a smile.
Lynn hummed, the corners of his mouth lifting without him realizing it.
