Yu Chen turned his head to glance at her. He had nearly forgotten—there was still a divine consciousness in his mind. He needed to be careful.
A trace of complicated emotion flashed across his handsome face, but it quickly returned to calm.
"Wang Dong," he said evenly. "Stop crying."
"Who's crying?!" Wang Dong suddenly raised her head. Tear tracks covered her delicate face, and her pink-blue eyes shimmered with tears. "I'm not crying!"
Yu Chen said nothing. He simply took a handkerchief from his pocket and held it out to her.
"Wipe your face."
Wang Dong froze for a moment, staring at the handkerchief with a complicated expression on her delicate face.
She did not take it. She merely stared stubbornly at Yu Chen as tears continued to stream down her face.
"You... you left, so you left..." she choked out. "Why... why did you have to be so cold...?"
Yu Chen withdrew the handkerchief, his handsome face calm.
"Cold?"
He replied indifferently, "I merely chose my own path."
"You have your choices, and I have mine."
"The tournament is upon us. We should each give it our all."
"See you in the arena."
The elevator stopped on the first floor.
Yu Chen walked out, his handsome face placid as he did not look back.
Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong remained in the elevator, watching his figure disappear through the restaurant entrance.
Tears still flowed down Wang Dong's delicate face.
"He... he's changed..." she said through sobs.
Huo Yuhao fell silent for a moment, a complicated look on his resolute face.
"...Maybe he has always been like this."
He spoke softly. "It's just that we never truly understood him."
