Ice Empress did not get angry at that. She merely turned and shot him a fierce glare. Though her expression remained cold, her eyes were clearly filled with the delight of someone who had found a treasure.
"What do you know? This is Ten-Thousand-Year Mysterious Ice Marrow. Even in the Far North, it's an exceedingly rare treasure. You'd be grinning too if it were you."
With that, she ignored the two of them, plopped down on the ground, and formed a strange hand seal.
"I'm going to begin absorbing it. Don't let anyone disturb me during this time."
As her words fell, the temperature of the surrounding air plummeted. There were forty-five pieces in total, but she would absorb two first to strengthen her origin.
If she absorbed too much, she would immediately have to undergo her tribulation on the spot. Ice Empress would not face a tribulation without any preparation.
Seeing this, Yu Chen nodded and said to Gu Yuena beside him,
"Looks like we'll have to stay here for a while."
Gu Yuena gave a soft hum, her gaze sweeping across the enormous ice cave as she fell into thought.
Ten-Thousand-Year Mysterious Ice Marrow was a tremendous tonic for ice-attributed Soul Masters and soul beasts. Gu Yuena also possessed control over the ice element, so she could absorb some of it as well.
But she could not absorb too much. After all, she still had to control the other six great elements, not just ice.
The two did not say much more. Each found a corner and sat down cross-legged to cultivate, while also standing guard for Ice Empress.
