Zhou Yi's Show of Force, Gu Shengge Refuses to Accept It

The next morning, while Gu Shengge was having breakfast, Han Yue hurried into the cafeteria looking for him, his face full of anxiety.

"Brother Gu, class is about to start. We need to get over there fast. If we're late, we'll be in big trouble."

"No rush. Isn't there still more than an hour?"

Gu Shengge told Han Yue to calm down, then leisurely picked up a soup dumpling and put it into his mouth. Worthy of costing one silver soul coin per basket, the skin was thin, the filling generous, and the flavor fresh and juicy. With one light bite, the broth burst across his mouth, filling it with the rich aroma of meat.

One basket was not enough, so he ordered two more. Then he pointed at the seat across from him with his chopsticks and said to Han Yue, "Sit down and eat with me."

But Han Yue was in no mood to eat. He was frantic inside.

"Brother Gu, you know our Class One homeroom teacher is that crazy old hag. The upperclassmen said she never does things normally. What if she gets there before us? If we arrive after her, she'll definitely remember us!"

"If you're that afraid of Zhou Yi, go ahead first. I'll go after I finish eating."

Gu Shengge remained unmoved, continuing to eat the soup dumplings before him without the slightest fear that Zhou Yi would lose her temper.

Seeing how calm his boss was, Han Yue could only sigh helplessly and sit across from him to eat soup dumplings as well.

These soup dumplings were pretty good.

After tasting them, Han Yue's eyes lit up, and he gave them his approval.

More than ten minutes later, Gu Shengge finally rose slowly after finishing breakfast. Han Yue followed behind him as they left the cafeteria.

At the freshman teaching building, large groups of students in freshman uniforms entered the building in twos and threes.

Freshman Class One was on the left side of the first floor. When Gu Shengge and Han Yue reached the classroom entrance, they happened to hear the ringing bell and stepped into the room right on time.

The spacious classroom was already packed with students, every seat occupied except for a few near the back.

Gu Shengge casually swept his gaze around the room, lingering briefly on a blue-eyed boy and a boy with pinkish-blue hair before withdrawing it. He then separated from Han Yue and picked a random seat.

Huo Yuhao noticed Gu Shengge's gaze pause on him and felt slightly puzzled. Did this person know him?

Some of the female students noticed Gu Shengge, and a gleam appeared in their eyes. Drawn in by his outstandingly perfect appearance, they could barely take their eyes off him. Their little mouths parted slightly as they whispered excitedly with their friends beside them.

Before long, an old woman entered from outside the classroom. Her skin was wrinkled and her hair white, coiled atop her head. She wore Shrek Academy teacher's robes with a shawl draped over them, her back straight as a rod. She appeared elderly on the surface, yet the life force she radiated was no different from that of a young woman. Behind her black-framed glasses, her eyes were bright and sharp.

The arrival of the homeroom teacher instantly silenced the previously noisy classroom. The students all turned their eyes toward Zhou Yi. Most of them had already heard about her reputation from upperclassmen or others, and they felt somewhat afraid of her.

Zhou Yi's gaze swept across every student in the classroom. In an instant, they all felt an invisible spiritual pressure descend upon them, making their hearts tighten.

A few students with weaker nerves even began to tremble faintly. Zhou Yi saw them all from the podium and marked them with crosses in her heart.

"Hm."

Zhou Yi sensed an upright gaze piercing toward her like an incomparably sharp sword. It tore through her spiritual pressure, as though trying to strip away her disguise and reveal her true face.

This stirred Zhou Yi's interest somewhat. Her gaze settled on Gu Shengge at the back, and a faint flicker of surprise flashed through her eyes.

Zhou Yi withdrew her gaze and slowly opened her mouth. Her voice was hoarse and deep, rather unpleasant to the students' ears.

"My name is Zhou Yi, and I am your homeroom teacher. I'm not sure how many of you will make it through the coming year with me. But let me tell you this: in my class, no trash will ever pass the assessments. What I intend to cultivate are monsters, not wastes."

Her words stirred dissatisfaction among many students. Being admitted to Shrek Academy meant that, while they might not be the most outstanding among their peers, they were still considered elites. Yet Zhou Yi had now belittled them as wastes. How could they not be indignant?

Gu Shengge lay sprawled over his desk with an indifferent expression, as though none of this had anything to do with him.

Zhou Yi then continued, "Stand up if you've gotten into a fight during the past few days since enrollment."

The sudden question left the students stunned. They had come here to study, not to start trouble. Why would they have gotten into fights?

After hearing this, Huo Yuhao hesitated for a while before standing up. When Wang Dong saw him rise, he refused to be outdone and stood up as well.

Out of a hundred students in the class, only the two of them stood, making them stick out like sore thumbs.

Seeing that there were only two, Zhou Yi frowned in great dissatisfaction. "Only two? What a bunch of wastes. Don't you know that those who dare not cause trouble are mediocre? Other than those two, everyone else, get out and run one hundred laps around Shrek Square. Anyone who fails to finish will be expelled immediately."

The entire class erupted into an uproar.

It was only the first day. Before they had even attended a lesson, they were being punished with running simply because they had not fought. No one could accept that.

"Teacher, I refuse to accept this! Why should we be punished just because we didn't fight? This is absurd!"

One student stood and shouted his objection. The other students immediately echoed him. That's right! Why? They had come here to study, not to fight.

Zhou Yi looked at the protesting students and gave a cold snort. "Hmph! Because I am the homeroom teacher of Class One, and I have the authority to expel any student. If you refuse to accept it, you can get lost. I'll give you one minute. If I don't see you running around Shrek Square within one minute, every single one of you will be expelled."

As she spoke, a powerful aura erupted from her body. Two yellow, two purple, and two black soul rings rose beneath Zhou Yi's feet. The overwhelming soul power pressure bore down on the students in the classroom, leaving them barely able to breathe, and the room fell silent again.

The student who had shouted his objection was pressed back into his chair, his face turning pale as fear appeared in his eyes.

When the students saw the six soul rings surrounding Zhou Yi, they were astonished. She was actually a Soul Emperor powerhouse. With her strength, dealing with them would be as easy as turning her hand over.

Just as the freshmen were about to compromise, another figure stood up from the back. Ignoring the soul power pressure Zhou Yi had released as though it were nothing, he slowly spoke.

"I refuse to accept it too."

His voice was calm, yet it echoed beside every student's ear. They turned around with difficulty and finally saw who had stood up.

It was none other than Gu Shengge.

Seeing Gu Shengge stand despite her pressure, Zhou Yi was quite surprised. Even a Soul Ancestor could not withstand the aura of a Soul Emperor. Could this kid be stronger than a Soul Ancestor?

But then her gaze darkened. She felt that her authority as homeroom teacher had been challenged, and she could not help increasing her pressure. Yet Gu Shengge remained completely still, which irritated Zhou Yi. She spoke coldly.

"You refuse to accept it? Do you want to be expelled?"
