Background / History

Qin Yi was originally a wealthy businessman from S City. Spoiled by his privileged upbringing and accustomed to luxury, he was largely indifferent to the feelings of his fiancée, Wang Luoxin. On their wedding day, Wang and her lover Nie Haotian murdered him by slitting his throat. 2 5

After death, Qin Yi encountered Andre, an immature god stripped of most of his Divine Power. Andre offered him rebirth in exchange for becoming his believer and helping gather Faith Power. Qin Yi returned to 1996 in his younger body, retaining sixteen additional years of memories but few useful details of future events. 2 5

He confided his rebirth to his older brother Qin Rong, who initially dismissed it as the influence of novels. Qin Yi nevertheless brought Qin Rong into Andre’s space and introduced him to Andre, beginning the brothers’ shared involvement with cultivation and interplanar travel. 5 8

Qin Yi first planned to gather Faith Power through celebrity, then pursued songwriting and other entertainment work. He also used knowledge from his previous life to contribute future fashion designs to his father Qin Zhenguo’s garment business. 3 19 29
