Background

Andre was originally living in his own palace when an unknown person used Space-Severing Art to send him to Earth, a “backward planet” with little remaining faith. He initially encounters Qin Yi as a disembodied voice and black mist, first demanding to be called “God” before reluctantly giving his actual name. 3

Unable to restore himself through conventional worship on Earth, Andre explains that Faith Power is produced when followers develop sufficient trust and worship. His original solutions are temples, powerful heroes, rulers, or war, but Qin Yi instead proposes gaining public worship through celebrity and entertainment. 3

Andre assists Qin Yi and Qin Rong by bringing them into his spatial realm, providing divine spring water and fruits, and giving Qin Yi the Dragon-Controlling Art. He also recognizes Qin Rong's Heavenly Spirit Body and Primordial Purple Qi, though Qin Rong's extraordinary potential leaves him openly dejected. 8 9

To create new routes for gathering Faith Power, Andre fabricates spatial fluctuations that lead Kate Verus to Earth and pushes the Qin brothers to become Plane Merchants. He views interplanar trade as a way to spread belief beyond Earth, where temples are impractical and believers provide little spiritual power. 14

Andre's attempted time travel repeatedly goes wrong: a planned journey to ancient China instead sends Qin Yi and Qin Rong to Kate's plane, while a later trip intended for the Three Kingdoms period lands Qin Yi in cultivation-era Chang'an. 21 33 In Kate's plane, he absorbs residual Faith Power from temple statues and finally gains a human body. 22

After Qin Yi reaches a technologically advanced plane, the worship generated by readers of The Legend of Qin restores more of Andre's strength. Andre urges Qin Yi to remain there because its inhabitants provide higher-quality Worship Power and because the two need greater strength against the enemies who framed him. 44

Kate later reports that True Gods from a higher plane are searching for a dangerous god who fled to a lower plane. Andre concludes that he may not have been the only god framed and considers using the Plane Merchant Guild to locate his original plane or contact his Father God. 53 57 The Light Gods eventually pursue him directly, seeking to seal him because his divine palace prevents them from killing him outright. 57

Andre reunites with his Creator God during the God-Linking events, learns that he is an innate god, and joins the effort to awaken the Seven Nether Gods and restore Earth's spiritual energy. 60

Appearance

Before regaining a body, Andre manifests as an opaque cloud of black mist within his golden spatial palace. 3 22 His first human form resembles a young boy rather than the imposing deity Qin Yi expected. 22

  • Approximately 1.4 meters tall in his initial human form. 22
  • Soft, slightly curly golden hair. 22
  • Large sapphire-blue eyes with long curled lashes. 22
  • Pale, delicate skin and cherry-like lips. 22
  • Often puffs his cheeks and blushes when embarrassed, particularly when Qin Yi mocks his childlike appearance. 22
  • Later becomes fully solidified after receiving Worship Power from Qin Yi's readers. 44

Personality

Andre is proud of his divine identity and initially reacts badly when Qin Yi dismisses him as an alien or refuses to call him “God.” At the same time, his limited understanding of modern human society makes him naïve; Qin Yi has to teach him Chinese characters and basic human knowledge with middle-school textbooks. 3 8

Although he is 361 years old, Andre is considered only roughly equivalent to a thirteen- or fourteen-year-old human and behaves accordingly. He becomes bored easily, sulks when left alone, eagerly imitates phrases from novels, and frequently acts cute, wronged, or tsundere when trying to persuade Qin Yi and Qin Rong. 8 15 17 22

Andre is also impulsive and unreliable with travel coordinates, yet he is protective of Qin Yi and willing to use his space to shelter the Qin family during danger. He becomes increasingly serious about restoring his strength once the threat posed by the Light Gods becomes clear. 33 43 57

Abilities & Skills

Faith Power Manipulation

Andre's divine strength depends on Faith Power generated through trust, worship, miracles, and belief.

  • Explains that worship can be converted into usable Faith Power once followers' trust reaches a sufficient level. 3
  • Can absorb residual Faith Power stored in religious statues, including the Faith Power accumulated in the Demon God Laya statue and Yun Tian's statue. 22 44
  • Receives Worship Power gathered by Qin Yi through novels and music; the Dragon-Controlling Art converts it into Faith Power before it reaches Andre. 44
  • Uses miracles and auxiliary mediums, such as music, as a standard method of spreading faith. 48
  • Cannot return to peak strength through ordinary Faith Power alone; he believes recovering the Divine Power left on Godfall Continent is necessary for a full restoration. 51

Divine Palace and Spatial Realm

Andre possesses a luxurious golden palace-like space that serves as his refuge, storage area, and means of protecting others.

  • Can pull Qin Yi and Qin Rong into the space, conceal supplies, and store biological robots, gemstones, weapons, and other traded goods. 8 17
  • Can transfer people into the space in emergencies, including Qin Yi's family members and the Qin family squad during the Light Gods' attack. 17 57
  • The palace was given to Andre by his Creator God and protects him from direct harm; the Light Gods instead seek to seal him. 57
  • Its defenses can still be shaken by sustained attacks from powerful gods. 57

Magic and Divine Knowledge

Even while deprived of Faith Power, Andre retains access to low-level spells and extensive supernatural knowledge.

  • Uses low-level magic such as wind manipulation and shared soul-magic transfer; he cannot cast high-level techniques such as Great Prophecy Technique or Great Translocation Art without Divine Power. 8
  • Identifies Qin Rong's Heavenly Spirit Body, Primordial Purple Qi, and the connection between Primordial Qi and the power of laws. 9
  • Tests mental fluctuations to determine whether someone is lying. 39
  • Detects that Qin Rong has an incomplete soul caused by a powerful soul contract and recommends the Heavenly Origin Sect's inheritance as a possible cure. 39
  • Teaches Qin Yi the Hymn of Light for healing soldiers harmed by life-devouring red mist. 57

Interplanar and Temporal Travel

Andre can create spatial connections and transport people across planes and time, though his depleted condition makes the results unreliable.

  • Contacts Kate Verus and facilitates the Qin brothers' entry into the Plane Merchant system. 14
  • Can attempt time travel within the same plane, but traveling too far into the past is strenuous. 17
  • Accidentally redirects a time-travel attempt to Kate's plane after accepting Kate's communication request. 21
  • Miscalculates destinations and coordinates on multiple occasions, including sending Qin Yi to Chang'an and later to a technologically advanced plane. 33 43
  • Memorizes the Rainbow Continent's coordinates and states that enough Faith Power would allow a return. 39

Relationships

  • Qin Yi — Contractor, closest companion, and primary source of Andre's recovered Faith Power. Qin Yi promises to help restore him and repeatedly protects Andre's identity from outsiders. 3 21 44
  • Qin Rong — Qin Yi's brother and a trusted ally. Andre recognizes Qin Rong's exceptional cultivation talent and later advises him to seek the Heavenly Origin Inheritance to repair his incomplete soul. 9 39
  • Creator God / Father God — Andre's father and the creator of his divine palace. Their reunion reveals Andre's identity as an innate god. 57 60
  • Kate Verus — Plane Merchant whose contact with Earth was arranged through Andre's spatial manipulation. Kate assists the group with interplanar trade and warns them of the True Gods searching for Andre. 14 53
  • Light Gods — The hostile faction that framed and exiled Andre, later tracking him across planes in an attempt to seal him. 53 57

Trivia

  • Andre initially wants Qin Yi to build him a temple, but Qin Yi considers this unsafe and impractical on Earth. 3
  • He became familiar with wuxia terminology after reading novels supplied by Qin Yi. 8
  • He considers war an effective way to gain Faith Power. 3
  • Qin Yi and Qin Rong tease him for looking like a “shota” after he gains his first human form. 22
