An Eye for an Eye, Blood for Blood—Screw Danzo, Screw the Village, Kill Them

"An uncle may endure it, but the Uchiha Clan will not."

"Screw Danzo Shimura. We must repay tooth for tooth, blood for blood."

"Screw the village. Our clan is rebelling."

"Rebellion it is. Screw them—kill them."

"Either they die, or we die."

Pairs of scarlet Sharingan erupted with boundless, savage killing intent.

Fugaku Uchiha said, "The village has roughly fifteen thousand resident ninja, while our Uchiha Clan has only a little over nine hundred jonin in total. We should not act rashly!"

"Now that our strength has greatly increased, we should seek negotiations with the village. Slaughter will only bring more casualties. If the losses are too severe, it may even draw an invasion from hostile villages outside."

An elder's expression darkened in disappointment. "Fugaku, you have truly disappointed us. You are unfit to remain the Uchiha Clan's clan head."

"I propose that we hold a vote now and remove Fugaku from his position as clan head."

"Those in favor of removing Fugaku as clan head, raise your hands."

After speaking, the elder raised his own hand.

"Fugaku, you have disappointed us too deeply. The village already got us all killed once. Now that we have finally been revived and our strength has soared, you are not thinking of revenge—you are still considering negotiations with those heartless bastards? What the hell is going through your head? I even suspect that you have secretly colluded with the enemy and betrayed the clan. I support removing Fugaku Uchiha from the position of clan head."

"I agree as well. Shadian revealed the truth not so that you could keep yielding and negotiate with the village. Our Uchiha Clan does not need a weak clan head who bows and gives way at every turn."

"If it were not for Shadian's power, we would all have died in vain. And you still want us to have some bullshit negotiations with the village? You coward, ptooey. I support removing this spineless thing. No wonder you raised a white-eyed traitor who turned his blade on his own clansmen and spared neither the old nor the young."

"Fugaku, you have disappointed us beyond measure. Now that we have been revived and learned everything, how can we possibly forgive what the village did to our clan? At worst, we die one more time. Kill one and we break even; kill two and we profit."

"Fugaku, get the hell out of here! You are unworthy of being the Uchiha Clan's clan head, and unworthy of serving as captain of the police force."

Nearly everyone present raised their hands.

Only a few of Fugaku Uchiha's loyal followers did not.

The elder said, "Very good. The motion has passed. From this moment onward, Fugaku Uchiha is no longer the head of our clan, nor is he captain of the Konoha Police Force."

"I propose that Shadian Uchiha become our clan's new clan head."

"Those in favor, raise your hands."

Swish, swish, swish!

Without a moment's hesitation, everyone raised their hands. Only Fugaku Uchiha did not, his face filled with bitterness and loneliness.

"Very good. The motion has passed. From now on, Shadian will be the new head of our Uchiha Clan."

The elder walked up to Fugaku Uchiha. "Fugaku, war is about to begin. If you want to run, then run! Take Mikoto and Sasuke and leave the clan at once! Then you will not have to worry about us dragging down a coward like you."

Fugaku Uchiha wore a bitter expression. "Fine. All these years, I have exhausted myself trying to maintain the relationship between the clan and the village. Since you have voted to remove me as clan head, then so be it. I am mentally and physically spent, and no longer have the strength to manage the clan. From this day onward, I withdraw from all matters concerning the clan."

With that, Fugaku Uchiha turned and left, leaving everyone with a lonely, desolate back.

"Elder, what do we do now?"

"Should we contact Shadian immediately and tell him he has been chosen as clan head, or should we organize our forces at once and slaughter the village?"

"I have a feeling that Lord Shadian must be watching our every move from somewhere."

"He told us the truth precisely so that we could settle the score with the village. Otherwise, he would never have told us."

"So we should simply begin the slaughter."

"Did they not intend to leave not a single member of our clan alive?"

"Then we will do the same. An eye for an eye—kill anyone we see, wipe them all out! Let them feel the Uchiha Clan's power. Let them know how strong the Uchiha Clan is. Let them fear us, let them tremble, let them feel the same pain as the Uchiha Clan."

"Good. That is what we will do."

"Have the elderly and children without combat strength take shelter in the shrine. As for everyone else in the clan, whether genin or otherwise, all of them will mobilize and begin a retaliatory massacre."

"Good! Kill them all and avenge this blood hatred."

"Report!" An Uchiha clansman flashed into the hall. "Elder, Lady Tsunade has arrived with visitors."

"Tsunade?"

"What is she here for?" The elder frowned.

"Elder, should we see her or not?"

Now that Fugaku Uchiha had been stripped of his position as clan head, while the new clan head, Shadian Uchiha, was absent, the elder had become the person with the greatest authority here.

The elder nodded. "Since she has come, let us meet her! Let us see what exactly she wants."

Tsunade stood at the entrance to the Uchiha Compound with a frown.

She could feel the vigilance and hostility in the Uchiha clansmen's eyes as they looked at her.

Tsunade said, "I mean no harm. I represent the village and have come to negotiate peace with the Uchiha Clan."

"Negotiate peace?"

"Lady Tsunade, our clan has not had any conflict with the village, has it?"

"Where does this talk of negotiations come from?" The elder approached with a smiling face.

"Where is Fugaku? I want to speak with Fugaku," Tsunade said.

The elder smiled. "Fugaku is mentally and physically exhausted and has voluntarily stepped down as head of the Uchiha Clan. Our new clan head is Shadian Uchiha."

"Shadian became the new clan head?" Tsunade's eyes lit up. She was Shadian's master, and the two of them had even shared physical intimacy. This would make things easier.

"Then I will speak with Shadian!"

"Is he at the Konoha Police Force? I will go find him."

"My apologies, Lady Tsunade, but Lord Shadian is not here. Whatever you need, you may tell me! Once Lord Shadian returns, I will personally convey it to him." The elder still wore a smiling expression.

Tsunade frowned, sensing that something was off.

"No. I will wait for him to return and come speak to him personally." As Tsunade spoke, she turned around and prepared to leave with Shizune and two Anbu ninja. The elder's smile made her feel as though he was hiding a blade behind it. And the Uchiha clansmen around them—when they looked at her, their eyes were incomparably cold. Even if they were exclusionary, their gazes should not have been this cold. Those looks were practically as if they wanted to devour her, filled with endless icy killing intent.

"Lady Tsunade, why the rush? It is still early. Why not come inside for a cup of tea first? I will immediately send someone to bring Lord Shadian back."

Several Uchiha clansmen silently positioned themselves behind Tsunade's group.

Tsunade had fought through countless battles. How could she fail to notice such small movements?

"What exactly are you trying to do?" The instant Tsunade sensed their intentions, she shouted sternly.

"Nothing at all! We merely wish to invite Lady Tsunade in as our guest."

Pairs of scarlet Mangekyo pupils opened, staring coldly at Tsunade and her party.

Tsunade stared at those Mangekyo Sharingan, her body shuddering as shock filled her face. "So many Mangekyo Sharingan."

"What is going on? Aren't Mangekyo Sharingan only awakened by a rare few Uchiha geniuses? Why does every one of these people have them?"

Tsunade secretly counted them. There were at least thirty.

All of them had Mangekyo pupils!

"Please, Lady Tsunade." The elder extended a hand in invitation.

I have to get this information out. We absolutely cannot go to war with the Uchiha Clan.

Tsunade fell silent for a moment, then said in a calm but icy voice, "Shadian and I are lovers. Are you sure you want to imprison me?"

The elder's eyes widened, his face full of disbelief.

The other Uchiha clansmen who had opened their Mangekyo Sharingan to threaten Tsunade decisively closed them. Then they scratched their heads and pretended to have business elsewhere as they left.

Achoo!

Standing atop Hokage Rock, Shadian Uchiha suddenly sneezed.

"What is it? You sneezed out of nowhere. Did you catch a cold?" Izuna Uchiha asked.

Shadian Uchiha shook his head. "Probably some pretty little girl thinking about me. After all, I am just too handsome."

Izuna Uchiha glanced at Shadian Uchiha's world-shakingly handsome face, curled his lips, and said, "I think it is probably some old woman."
