But Harry's remark did make the angry Hermione feel much better.

She glared at Harry. "It's not about looks. Darren has always attracted people because of his appearance and his character.

What makes you two even more popular now is that you refused to compromise throughout last year. You stood up to Umbridge. You insisted in the newspapers that the Dark Lord had returned. So many people didn't believe you, but you kept at it for an entire year. You endured the looks of distrust from others. Wouldn't that make people like you even more?"

Since it was Harry's first time holding Gryffindor's Quidditch tryouts, Darren had been dragged along as well.

Naturally, Hermione could only follow.

"Can't you seal off the Quidditch pitch next time? Don't let in girls who aren't here for the tryouts!"
