Background
Darren was abandoned as a child and left in the middle of a battlefield. By the time Sirius Black and James Potter searched for him, he had disappeared; after James and Lily Potter were killed and Sirius was imprisoned, Dumbledore and Snape believed Darren had died. His survival was only discovered when the Hogwarts admission book registered the name “Darren Potter.” 3
He grew up in an orphanage, where neglect, malnutrition, and injury left him sallow, thin, and unkempt. After receiving the Paternal System and its Paternal Halo, he worked to restore his health before Dumbledore and Snape found him shortly before Hogwarts. 6 57
Darren later learned that Harry Potter was his twin brother, though he consistently calls Harry his “older brother.” 6 56
Appearance
Darren resembles Lily Potter in his red hair and green eyes, while his smile and mouth resemble James Potter's. His formerly malnourished appearance improves dramatically after gaining the Paternal Halo. 6 18
- Fair complexion and large green eyes, frequently described as watery or expressive. 15
- Red hair, often with a stubborn cowlick inherited from James. 57 266
- Becomes notably handsome as he grows, attracting attention from students across all houses. 207 524
- Has a polished, aristocratic appearance when dressed formally, despite his orphanage upbringing. 206
- His appearance can become fragile or haggard when he stages exhaustion, injuries, or grief to reinforce his public image. 269 411
Personality
Darren cultivates the public image of a gentle, self-sacrificing “Paternal Figure.” He is adept at appearing innocent, apologetic, and deeply concerned for others, earning Paternal Points whenever his words or actions move people. He deliberately protects this reputation, discouraging Peeves from spreading his orphanage history too openly because he wants to seem like someone who quietly does good rather than someone seeking pity. 24
Behind that image, Darren is calculating, observant, and highly pragmatic. He regularly engineers scenes, fabricates injuries and memories, manipulates witnesses, and uses emotional performances to obtain Paternal Points or redirect blame. He is fully aware that others trust him precisely because they cannot imagine him lying. 186 198 211 229 462
Despite his manipulation, Darren repeatedly risks himself for Harry, his friends, strangers, and even people who have treated him badly. His protectiveness toward Harry is genuine, and he is particularly sensitive to abandonment, family, and the prospect of others being left alone. 83 118 460 750

- The Execution Card can command one person to perform one action. 215
- The System can counter Veritaserum and assist Darren in resisting mental interference. 175 211
Dark Arts Affinity

Obscurus and Physical Power
Darren can invoke the Obscurus for overwhelming physical strength and magical output.
- A single punch empowered by the Obscurus shatters Draco Malfoy's Protective Charm and sends him flying. 48
- Avoids using its full strength in ordinary duels because he fears seriously injuring or killing opponents. 49
- Uses the Obscurus to protect Harry and Ron during the troll attack and to free allies from Devil's Snare. 83 116
- Later gains enough confidence in this strength to threaten armed opponents even while wandless. 316
Wand Mastery
Darren is unusually compatible with wands and possesses multiple exceptional wand-related abilities.
- Resonates with numerous wands at Ollivanders, including wands suited to both virtuous and dark wizards. 20 21

- Can perform effective wandless magic, though he still values his wand's compatibility. 825
Patronus and Azure Dragon Magic

- Gains a special Patronus Charm that lets him customize the Patronus's form. 338

- Summons an Azure Dragon to drive Dementors away during the Battle of Hogwarts. 846
- His wand's Azure Dragon spirit is distinct from the Hungarian Horntail and other Western “dragons.” 20 22

- Produces a potion intended to prevent wizards from becoming Squibs. 383
- Creates communication Galleons for Darren's Army and equips them with linked alchemical charms. 634
Mental Resistance and Deception
Darren is difficult to read or compel through conventional magic.
- Withstands Dumbledore's Legilimency and improved Veritaserum through System assistance. 175
- Deceives Dumbledore with fabricated memories during Legilimency training. 650
- Resists Moody's Imperius Curse almost immediately rather than spend Paternal Points to simulate suffering. 488
- Uses false Pensieve memories and altered Remembralls to frame enemies and establish alternate versions of events. 209 214
