"I've heard about the grudge between you and Harry, so I gave you an idea: have Darren persuade Harry. There definitely won't be a problem.
"I'm an excellent judge of character. Trust my method!"
Harry stared at Slughorn in disbelief.
What exactly had the old man seen?
How could he conclude that Snape had been secretly watching him?
It would have been more plausible if Snape had been watching Darren, since Darren had been nearby.
When he had been dancing earlier, he had not been far from him either.
Though Harry felt that Snape had not been looking at either of them at all.
He had probably wanted to do something.
Slughorn had merely mistaken it for him looking at Harry.
As for Snape wanting to reconcile with him, that was even more absurd.
Snape wanted to reconcile with him...
That was the biggest joke in the world.
Snape's face was filled with disgust as well.
Clearly, Slughorn's claim that he had been secretly watching Harry had revolted him.
"Don't be like that, Severus. I know you're very fond of Harry too. After all, Harry's talent in Potions class is so remarkable that it's impossible not to like him."
Slughorn praised Harry to Snape.
Harry saw Snape narrow his eyes.
He seemed to have discovered something interesting.
"Is that so? I only ever knew that his younger brother, Darren Potter, was a genius at Potions. I'd never heard that Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, was also a genius!"
Slughorn seemed to have been reminded of something.
He said excitedly, "Speaking of Darren, Severus, you must know that Darren inherited all of Lily's talents.
"He's talented, handsome, and possesses excellent character. I don't think there's a more perfect child than him!"
Harry watched as every expression vanished from Snape's face.
